How To Get Your Foot In The Door At Work

It can be so frustrating to hear "you don't have enough experience for the job" when you're only 17. Sometimes employers seem to want it all their way; they want to pay minimum wage to the youngest candidate possible but they want that candidate to be experienced. It's a vicious cycle and represents very unrealistic expectations on the part of employers. You can, however, give yourself an edge over other applicants for jobs you'd like to apply for. Even while you're still at school, you can do things that will help you to be more experienced than others, and give you that vital advantage.

Volunteering
Whether you peel vegetables at a soup kitchen, show visitors around a hospital, read stories to ill children or give up your time to wash cars for charity, volunteering gives you a skills base to boast about. Even if the skills you acquire have nothing to do with the job you want, your reliability, punctuality, dedication and initiative will be on record for prospective employers to see.

Work experience
Make up a resume, even if it mentions more about school activities than any real job you've held and submit it to workplaces where you'd like to work. Offering to do work experience is a great opportunity for you to develop skills, make contacts in the industry and obtain a reference advertising your abilities.

Family jobs
Turning up for work, even if it's in your parents' grocery store is good experience for a job outside of the family environment. Stacking shelves instead of lounging around in front of the TV sounds far better to an employer when you go for an interview.

Don't be fussy
Take a burger-flipping job, be the photocopier queen, shine shoes ... do whatever it takes to develop a work ethic and to have something to show for your time. Employers love kids with initiative and who seem willing to work.

Don't allow your youth and inexperience to put you behind the eight ball for a fulfilling and successful career. Make it happen.

The basics of web affiliate programs are very simple and everyone can start a business and find ways to earn extra money. Pharmacy affiliate programs deserve a special mention here, as they are some of the best paying web affiliate programs. If you are a beginner and you want to earn money fast, you should consider online pharmacy affiliate programs as the best make money online programs for you!
And now that I’ve told you what to do to earn money fast, I’m going to tell you another trick you can do to make sure the first pharmacy affiliate program you join is one of the best ways to earn extra money. You know online pharmacy affiliate programs are the best make money online programs and you know that we have to have newsletters and market a product repeatedly if you are to earn money fast.
When you send a newsletter you’d probably think about adding a smashing title like “Free offer” or “Save money with our…”, right? Totally wrong.
This is the exact kind of action that can ruin the prospects of even the best pharmacy affiliate program. This is not on my top 10 list of sure ways to earn extra money.
Now go to you junk mail folder and read a few subject lines of the 1K+ emails that you never read. Most of them, if not all, have “free” or “money” or “special discount” or something like that. This is one of the things spam detectors are looking for.
You want your email to arrive in your prospect's mailbox, not be classified as junk and deleted. Convince the people who have signed up for your free newsletter that they will be missing something huge if they do not avail themselves of your products and opportunities, but don’t hype!
A plain title like “New products added to our online pharmacy store” would help you make the most of your online pharmacy affiliate program. Don’t let hype marketing ruin your make money online program!

5 Questions to Catapult Out of “stuckville” and Into Massive, Focused Action

Description:

If you were already a millionaire, what would you be doing differently? Got you thinking didn’t I. That’s the power of a question. So really, what would you be doing differently if every day you got up and went about your business as if you were already a millionaire?

If you were already a millionaire, what would you be doing differently?

Got you thinking didn’t I. That’s the power of a question. So really, what would you be doing differently if every day you got up and went about your business as if you were already a millionaire?

Most people who come to me for coaching eventually realize that they have stayed stuck because they ask themselves “disempowering questions.” When you ask yourself a question, you train your brain to answer a certain way. If you keep asking the same question, you will often keep getting the same answer.

Do some of these questions sound familiar to you?

How will I ever get out of debt?

Can I really ever achieve my dream?

Where will I ever find someone who wants what I sell?

How come everyone else is making more money and getting “there” faster than me?

How come I can’t get this all done?

Each of these questions is totally and completely disempowering. And the answers you get when you ask these questions will most likely keep you thinking small.

Want to know a MASSIVE success secret? Start asking yourself new questions and you will immediately catapult forward into powerful solutions.

A few years ago I got really stuck around my finances. I was frustrated and fearful that I might have to claim bankruptcy. I kept asking myself “How will I ever get out of debt?” Luckily, I had a mentor who infused a new way of solving financial problems. She said: “If you were already a millionaire, how would you solve this problem?” Boy, I started thinking about leverage, about different funding sources, about all kinds of options I never thought of before. Within 5 days I had a whole new plan of action with an option that had been in front of my nose the whole time. I just hadn’t asked myself the right question before.

Ready to catapult forward in your own life? Here are some questions to start asking yourself now:

“As an excellent money manager, what do I need to do differently?'

“What is the Return on Investment for (your project/idea/opportunity) that will align me with MY priorities?”

“Who do I need to be to work less and achieve more (freedom, results, etc.)”

“As a millionaire business owner, where would I take my company next?”

“In order to play my biggest game ever, who do I need to surround myself?”

Here is my coaching challenge for you. Write this down right now because this process could change your life in a matter of days. For the next 7 days, every morning wake up and ask yourself one of the above questions. Or create a positive question of your own for the situation you are stuck on. I guarantee that you will start to become aware of new possibilities – maybe that have been right in front of your nose. =-)

Go for it! And be sure to celebrate your new successes!

3 Strategies For Increasing Profits

Description:

It's a simple yet common question, "How can I make my business more successful?"

Content:

It's a simple yet common question, "How can I make my business more successful?"

Success can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people but when it comes down to it, the success of your business should only be measured by one thing – profit.

At the end of the day, it's not how many people came in to your store or phoned in. It's not even how many widgets you sold. At the end of the day, what truly matters is how much of a profit you made.

It would make sense then that your efforts focus on profit as the end result. With that in mind, there are only three strategies to increase profits for your business.

1) Increase the dollar size of each order
2) Increase the number of times people buy from you
3) Increase the number of people who buy from you

Most likely, your business is already primed to attack each of these three angles and implementing that attack should be fairly easy.

Let's say that you are the owner of Happy Wicks Candle Store. Let your customers know that for every $50 they spend they will receive a free 4-inch candle. When they are eligible for the free candle, offer them the option of upgrading the 4-inch candle to a 6-inch candle for only four dollars.

Implement a customer loyalty program. Whenever a customer spends $200 with your store they receive a 20% discount on their next order. Show loyalty to your customers, too. Create customer-only events and sales, even workshops on how to make candles at home.

Candles are also popular gifts. Be sure to place your contact info on each and every candle. This makes it easy for the gift recipient to purchase from you. Be sure to also use this tactic when co-promoting with similar businesses such as a flower and bath and body shop.

Looking at the example Happy Wicks Candle Store, the tasks of increasing profits was not a difficult one. Truly, it's a matter of putting systems in place that generate increasing profits.

Take a look at your business and examine the systems you have in place. Chances are there's undiscovered profits lying about. Put systems in place to gather those profits and you'll find your business reaching new heights of success.

Money Worries? . . . Why You May Need Retirement Employment!

Description:

For many, the cost of living in retirement is becoming too burdensome to think about doing it without income from retirement employment.

Content:

There are only two types of retirees who would consider retirement employment. One is the person who wants to stay active. The other has no choice.

For many, the cost of living in retirement is becoming too burdensome to think about doing it without income from retirement employment. Two major factors must be considered.

1. According to current life expectancy figures, you could live 20 to 30 years after you retire at 65.

2. The cost of living will more than double during those years, even if inflation averages a modest 3% a year.

To make sure your savings last as long as you do, experts say, you can't afford to withdraw more than 4% to 5% from your nest egg each year, adjusted annually for the rise in the cost of living. Of course, you'll also receive income from social security and perhaps a pension.

Everyone's situation is different. But if you take the time to crunch the numbers on your behalf, you may find that you come up short. And entertaining retirement employment becomes a necessity.

Well, there are two pieces of good news.

First, there's an explosion of opportunities for retirement employment. Many corporations are looking to bring back retirees on a part-time or consulting basis. Other organizations like Home Depot and Walmart are deliberately recruiting retirees because they know they are hard-working, knowledgeable members of the team who are above average in attendance and competence.

The second piece of good news is that finding and landing good retirement employment is straightforward and easy if you follow the plan laid out in The World's Fastest Alternative Job Search System. This amazing non-traditional career advancement program can have you talking to prospective employers in a matter of days. And show you how to lock up good retirement employment in as little as two weeks.

What's more, this exciting program can help you reassess your talents, capabilities and marketable assets. You'll discover that you've accumulated some remarkable skills, both on and off the job. This fundamental reassessment can point you in some exciting new directions. And you'll learn how to repackage yourself to become an attractive candidate.

So, if it turns out that your money worries can be resolved by retirement employment, you couldn't have picked a better time to be in the job marketplace. The volume and variety of opportunities is at their peak. And the mounting interest in hiring retirees means the time may be just right for you!

Steps To Take The Coast Guard Aviation Program

Description:

This article is about what steps to take for the Coast Guard Aviation Program and where you might find some of the information.

Content:

The following are opinions from soldiers regarding the Coast Guard Aviation program: "My questions are kind of difficult. I've talked to many different recruiters, and retirees. My goal is to fly in the coast guard, I want to fly Jayhawks or dolphins prefibly, but I will really fly anything and work my way there. I am very interested in joining CSPI, but I am not sure if my school qualifies. I think the minority rate is close, and I hope it does."

"I planned on CSPI, OCS, and then blue 21 if I can. I also wanted to know the chances of becoming a pilot are, and what path there is the most efficient. Also, would joining another branch of the military, and then going direct commission into flight be easier. And if so what branch would be the best."

"Take your education more seriously than you take your grammar and you may go somewhere. Flying is serious business, steps cannot be overlooked, (like the absence of caps and punctuation)... many people read these interviews, keep it squared away. You have to get selected to two programs if you go through another branch first (the first service then the second). Plus flying in the other services isn't exactly a cake walk. Additionally, you may get stuck in a stop loss and not be allowed to leave the other service. So easy is not a word I would use."

"Don't you all think that it would be easier given our young lads experience, to get into say, Army aviation as a warrant than the CG aviator program? When I was in, if you were a pilot in another branch of service, it was a lot easier to get into CG Aviation. Course things change. Look at the information on CSPI. To find out if your school qualifies for CSPI. When you follow the link you will find out Embry Riddle does not meet the minimum 25% minority requirement. I don't remember CSPI having a minority minimum for the program. I would double check on that, the website might be wrong."

"When I was attending Riddle (99-03) I was in the CG reserves and I personally know two people that where accepted into the CSPI program. Well, only about 40% of CG aviators are prior aviators so 60% are home grown CG. So by numbers alone, you have a better shot going the CG route. Additionally, the DCAs are competing against other pilots and there are very few boards a year. One or two only so again, define easy. Any way you go it is difficult, just a different barrier to face."

"CSPI does not guarantee Flight School. Only Blue 21 and Avcad (for Active Duty Members) do. Blue 21 is a different route to get accepted to OCS and guaranteed Aviation. You cannot go from CSPI to OCS and then Blue 21. You would have to apply for CSPI, attend OCS, and then submit a request to Flight School. Or you could just apply to Blue 21, but you would have to change to a school with a 25% minority population. There is also AVCAD for Active Duty Members. I am not quite sure how it works, but if you Google "Coast Guard OCS Portal" there is information on that message board about AVCAD."

"You should look into the Army Warrant Officer Program. They have a 6 year commitment after Flight School, and you may be able to lateral over to the Coast Guard after you complete your six year commitment and until you are age 34. I believe the Navy may also have a Warrant Officer Program, but it might be for Active Duty members only. You can learn a lot more by looking around military.com, the OCS Portal, and even the USCG website."

MLM Training - How to Keep Prospects From Feeling "Baited and Switched"

Description:

Before a prospect will "reach out" for more information about your MLM business or products, you must absolutely create just the right amount of curiosity. Do it wrong, and they'll feel "baited and switched" or mislead. Continue reading to learn what I do to keep prospects curious and reaching for more.

Before a prospect will "reach out" for more information about your MLM business or products, you must absolutely create just the right amount of curiosity. Do it wrong, and they'll feel "baited and switched" or mislead. Continue reading to learn what I do to keep prospects curious and reaching for more.

One of the best things about giving people gifts is building their curiosity about the gift. Think about Christmas time as a kid: you know the size of the box but you don't know what's in it.

When the right amount of mystery is created, curiosity develops and soon you will find yourself waking up at some ridiculous hour so you can find out what's in that box.

It's this same curiosity that plays an important role when you're inviting a prospect to learn more about your MLM business. Curiosity is what you want to create with your prospect.

Curiosity is defined as: desire to know something: eagerness to know about something or to get information. So for you to be curious about what is in that box, you must have this urge or pull to open it; you must know what's inside of it.

Now let's transfer this to business. When a person tells you how fed up he is with his boss and you ask, "What are you going to do about it?" and that person responds, "I don't know," your reply back should be, "I may have a solution."

You've just created a moment of curiosity. If your prospect isn't curious when he gets off the phone with you, you have nothing.

On the contrary, if you call your friend and ask, "What are you doing Friday night?" and he says, "Nothing," good, the curiosity is there. But if you say something like, "Great I want to meet you and talk to you." and then when you meet up you discuss your business, you have changed his perception from curiosity to feeling tricked. Don't do that. It makes prospects feel baited and switched rather than curious.

Let me explain the difference between the two: it's the difference of being a consultant versus a salesperson. When you're a consultant, you help solve a problem; you do this by asking your prospect the right questions (this is covered fully in Professional Inviter) to fully identify what problem he needs solved-before offering the right solution.

A salesperson knocks on your door and says, "Would you like to buy a garden hose?" A consultant sees you in your front yard with a leaky garden hose and says, "You've got a lot of holes in your garden hose. I can help you with that." The difference is helping someone versus getting the door slammed in your face.

The objective is to create just the right amount of curiosity. I've found that if I tell all, at some point my MLM business is no longer interesting to the prospect. If I tell not quite enough, then there is no interest. But if I give enough information that's just "in between" and enough curiosity is created, then that prospect will want to know more.

And that's what you want to shoot for - just the right amount of curiosity to create enough interest that your prospect will reach for more information about your MLM business or products.

Why you Need a Niche

Description:

You may be afraid to choose a niche for fear that you may limiting your business if you narrow your niche down too much, but that simply isn't true. You are not going to cut yourself off from other opportunities, or limit your success by only focusing on a small segment of the population. The opposite is actually true.

Content:

Let's get something out of the way right now:

You might be afraid to choose a niche for your product or service. I know there can be the fear that you're limiting your business if you narrow your niche down too much, but that simply isn't true. Believe me, it's so much easier and profitable to market to a smaller portion of the market (just think how many people there are in the world!) than to try to be all things to all people. And you'll be amazed to find out that you actually open yourself up to possibilities that would not have come up had your focus been all over the map.

Next let me say that lots of new business owners struggle with this issue. All you want to do is give your gifts to the world, and making decisions that make you feel as though you are saying "no" to a segment of the world may not feel right to you.

But by choosing to focus on a certain segment of the population, you are ensuring that your work actually gets out there, and you will be astounded at what comes your way.

For example, even though my niche is solo professionals, once I started defining my offerings for and to coaches/consultants, my business took off. Currently, I have about 50% coaches, and 50% other solo professionals as clients. Once I started focusing my marketing efforts on my niche, all these other potential clients (who are not specifically coaches/consultants) showed up. I promise this will happen for you. You just need to keep putting your work out there, just in a focused and consistent way.

If you keep in mind the infinite Abundance of the Universe, understanding that you can't (nor should you) serve everyone is a bit easier.

Think about the billions of people in the world. Even if you wanted to, you couldn't possibly serve all of them - and you certainly couldn't please even the smallest percentage. Trying to do so really dilutes your genius work, your best work, instead of allowing it to truly help those people you are meant to serve - your niche.

You are not going to cut yourself off from other opportunities, or limit your success by only focusing on a small segment of the population. The opposite is actually true. When you focus your efforts:

1. Your marketing gets a whole lot easier.

2. It's much easier for people (your clients) to talk about you because they understand that you do one basic thing for one group of people.

3. It's much easier for clients and colleagues to refer you for the same reason as #2.

4. It's much easier to build strategic alliances/joint ventures and partnerships.

5. It's much easier to become and be considered an expert at what you do.

6. Other opportunities WILL present themselves.

When you focus your efforts and energy on one target market, you are directing the Universe to help draw those Ideal Clients to you. When you continue to put yourself out there with one clear message, those Ideal Clients will eventually hear it and seek you out. Exciting, isn't it?

PS: If you want help with defining your niche to make your business a success that much faster, I cover how to in detail, including worksheets for you to use, in Step 2 of my bestselling 21 Easy & Essential Steps to Online Success System.

Job Interview Skills - Going for a Job

Description:

Hints and Interview Tips on CVs, Job Interview Questions, Interview Technique and Interview Advice.

Content:

You hear all sorts of rules about job interview success:

* people decide about you in the first 10 seconds * you have to make a good first impression * always ask insightful job interview questions * learn as much as you can about the company * they'll probably ask interview questions designed to trip you up * have some quick answers to interview questions at the ready

Not bad, as far as rules go: some of them make perfect sense. But getting the job you want isn't about following rules or giving the 'right' interview answer.

It's about presenting yourself in the most authentic way that takes care of you and the interviewers at the same time.

So many people chuck their chances away: they don't take enough care and interview preparation time so that the whole process is enjoyable, stimulating and informative for both parties.

Your First Opportunity: Getting The Interview

If you want the job, chances are so do about a million other eager people, so your application has to stand out from the crowd. British CVs are usually dull and boring, and people create them as historical documents, rather than as marketing tools. You can boost your chances of getting an interview by making your CV look and 'sound' special.

Use good paper, design a personal logo, fiddle with the layout to make it easy on the eyes. Edit it ruthlessly. People always put in too much detail. Highlight the bits that relate to the job you're going for. They don't need to know you went to St Mary's School when you were 12! Put 'who you are now' at the beginning of your CV, and leave education and qualifications for the end.

If you don't have what you think are the right educational qualifications, don't worry. Just leave them off. If you include enough interesting and intriguing material about who you are now, what you didn't do is far less important.

I recommend a short paragraph at the beginning that says something about your personal qualities and your business skills. A short statement about what you're seeking can also go down a treat.

As we know, a job for life is so rare nowadays, that eclectic, unusual and even inconsistent CVs are OK as long as they're presented well.

Even if you think your current job stinks, look at the good points as though you were looking at it from the outside in. Most jobs appear much better from the outside than they do from the inside (only you know the real truth); so pump up the goodies and soft-pedal the baddies!

So that worked. You've got the Interview; now what?

Preparing For a Job Interview

Here's the key and the most important thing to remember when preparing for interview

Before you go through the door, tell yourself that unless they are simply going through the motions because they've already appointed someone, they want it to be you.

They want to know their search is over, so for the length of the interview, the job is yours. You need to make the most of it.

Having said that, first impressions are incredibly important. Be yourself right from the start, turning up the volume on those bits of you that most match the job; turning down the volume on the bits that don't. However, never ever shut the volume off entirely, as you will then be pretending to be someone you're not - a sure recipe for disaster.

Not a good idea to lie! You can be judicious with the truth, but lies have a tendency to return and bite you in the bum! Even if they don't know you've lied, you will be giving out signals that are a give-away that something is wrong.

Being put on the spot can feel very uncomfortable, and it's easy to fall into a defensive posture. If you're not sure of answering interview questions or feel boxed into a corner it's all right to buy time - including saying 'I need some time to think about that.'

No matter how nervous you are, you do need to look after the people interviewing you. Show that you know how to communicate and relate to people: ask surprising questions.

Have a stockpile of question to ask at interview and anecdotes of past triumphs (and even a few disasters, as long as their funny or humorous side is apparent). This is not just a list of what you can do, but some personal examples that paint the whole picture.

There are no right answers to job interview questioning. In fact a good interview question is one that allows you a chance to talk about yourself.

Job Interview Follow-up

At the end of your interview, if you haven't been advised, ask when they think they'll be making their decision. At least then you'll know how long you'll have to wait before you hear.

Many places don't automatically let people know if they haven't got the job; so one follow-up call is allowable. More than that and it can feel like badgering.

No matter how badly you think the interview went, if you want the job, always send a follow-up interview thank you letter. Since most of us think of clever things to say after the fact, include one or two of those, referring to something specific from the interview.

Use phrases such as:

'I've given a lot of thought to our interview and...' 'Something you mentioned got me thinking...' 'What you said about _______ really struck home...'

If you don't get the job and you're curious why not, phone up and get some feedback. It may help you for the next interview.

Happy job hunting!

A transcriber is the machine that plays a dictated report through a set of headsets. The headset fits over the head somewhat like a headband with two little round plugs you plug into your ears. There is a foot pedal that usually has three sections. The middle section when pressed by your foot continuously "plays" the transcription report as it was dictated by the doctor. The right pedal would rewind to a previous spot. The left portion of this pedal would fast forward the report. The transcriber machine sits usually near your typewriter. It is a fairly small piece of equipment that resembles an ordinary tape player/recorder. There are buttons on the transcriber to play fast forward, rewind and open the compartment where you place the tape of physician dictated reports.

When I first became acquainted with a transcriber I was amazed! It was during an interview for a clerk-typist job in which the most important and difficult task was going to be transcribing medical dictation in a Crippled Children's clinic. I seemed to have an immediate connection or bonding to the headset, the transcriber and the typewriter.

At the end of the interview I was hired solely upon the transcribing test. All other applicants had excelled in other areas for this job, except the transcription test. I immediately began typing the words I heard through the headset and at an amazing speed and accuracy. They were impressed! I thought what is the big deal here? No problem transcribing the words I heard through the headset. I had more problems answering the phone!

Each day was an education in many ways, but mostly in medical transcription. I learned medical transcription on the job. In those days, we called it "taking dictation." The area of medical expertise in this position was limited to orthopedic and pediatric transcription. I later transferred to other jobs in which I transcribed Internal Medicine and Psychiatric medical reports. Of all assignments, it was the psychiatric dictation I was most interested in transcribing.

Wow! This job is actually fun. My thoughts daily were "this is not a job." This is just plain fun. However, it is a job and I soon learned, although I enjoyed this, it was highly important to transcribe those reports accurately and after that, a medical transcriptionist must never tell anything to anyone else that they hear through the headphones.

I had two very excellent "older" mentors in this job that did not let one mistake slip by, and made no beans about slapping my hands when mistakes occurred. I had some rough days with those two women, (one I describe was almost as bad as the Old Catholic Nuns), and however, I did learn the value of accurately transcribing medical reports and to keep those records private. I feared the nun and her daughter would probably cut my fingers off and my tongue out if I disobeyed these rules!

After being in this one particular position for a total of about 13 years, I feel these two rules lay the foundation for all else that is being a Professional Medical Transcriptionist, they are:

• Accuracy in the ability to interpret, translate, and edit medical dictation for content and clarity
• Professionalism in being able to keep highly confidential information about patients ENTIRELY CONFIDENTIAL.

If there is one common quality all medical transcriptionists must possess, it is a true love and passion for "words." This is the common thread in the profession of medical transcription. I fit this perfectly. In grade school, we had a regular substitute teacher who always gave us "dictionary" work on the days she taught our class. She would give us a list of words to look up in the dictionary and write out their meanings. We had to write the exact meaning from the dictionary and then write the meaning into our own words. It was lessons that helped to lay the foundation for my later love of words as well as typing, medical transcription and writing articles for online web site marketing purposes.

During this first medical transcription/clerk-typist job, I would go home sometimes stuck on a word. I was anxious to return to work and continue looking for that word. I always found it. I move no place without packing my medical and regular dictionaries with me. They are staples in my life forevermore I suppose. I also carry around a transcription machine complete with headset and foot pedal!

Medical transcriptionists can get lost in dictionaries. Words are truly exciting to a medical transcriptionist.

Other basic qualities that lay the foundation for a future in medical transcription include:

• Typing skill
• Good hand-eye coordination to help you quickly twist and turn looking for your books and resources to find your words
• Ability to know how and where to find information
• Good spelling and proofreading skills

8 Tips To Writing A "Winning" Grant Proposal!

Description:

Grants are hard to find and competitive - so put together the very best proposal possible and prove that you are the one that should get the money - plan to spend the time and energy to do it right - or don't do it all!

Content:

Contrary to what the emails that fill your inbox and the guy in the funny suit on late night TV may say - true grants are very diffcult to find, especially for business.

But finding the right grant is only the first step in the process. The second part - properly completing the grant application - is the killer and where most grant seekers fail!

Here are a few tips for writing your grant proposal:

1. You may understand your business or concept inside out - but the person reading your proposal doesn't. Explain your idea clearly and in detail. Have at least two other people OUTSIDE of your organization read the proposal and then ask them questions about your concept. If they cannot explain what you are trying to do - chances are the grants committee won't either. And they won't fund what they can't comprehend.

2. The proposal must flow smoothly from beginning to end. As a result, the proposal just doesn't make sense. To avoid this situation, start with an outline that clearly follows each step of your plan...then expand each point as needed to fully explain your business plan. Then - give the finished proposal to someone outside the field of education to read before you submit it. This will help you to identify parts that needed to be clarified.

3. If you want your proposal to be taken seriously - show the funding commitee that YOU take it seriously by carefully proofing it for spelling, typing and grammatical errors. Take time to have at least two people proofread your proposal before you submit it - and then read it again yourself to make sure!

4. Don't estimate costs and funding needs for the proposal rather than taking the time to research and evaluate the actual expenses. In a grant proposal, guesses just won't make it. If a grant reviewer suspects that your financial sheet is not accurate - you just lost the grant. Find out exactly what kind of computer system you are going to need and exactly what the cost will be, then spell it out in the proposal exactly!

5. Make sure that your goals and objectives are clearly laid out and specific. If you say "I want this grant so that I can help the community" you won't get nearly the credibility as you would by saying "This grant will allow us to buy 2 new computers, and create 2 part-time paid staff positions in an area where jobs for high school students are very diffcult to find."

6. Give yourself enough time! Don't throw the proposal together in order to meet the deadline.... it shows. A good proposal package takes time to assemble and research properly. If you really want the money - then spend the time to put it together correctly, without shortcuts.

7. Every grant has rules and directions that must be followed EXACTLY! If you want your proposal to be read and considered, read and re-read the directions. If it says that the grant MUST be submitted via the online form - don't even bother to ask if you can fax it in. Unlike employment applications where it sometimes pays to be "original", grant committees have rules in place for a specific reason, and they expect them to be followed to the letter. To do otherwise may mean that your application will be disqualified before it ever gets read.

8. Make sure that your proposal is what the funder actually funds! Don't assume that just because there is a significant amount of money available, that they will fund just anything - the truth is that funders are often VERY specific in what they are looking for (and sometimes a bit odd, but that's their choice!) and will rarely deviate from their "category". You may have the very best purple widget in the world - but if the grant is only for the producers of RED WIDGETS - you won't get the grant!

Grants are hard to find and competitive - so put together the very best proposal possible and prove that you are the one that should get the money!

How To Avoid Working 24 Hours a Day At Your Home Business

Description:

We all know how important it is to work hard to get your home business up and running and off the ground. If you find yourself working too much, and you know that you are in danger of working longer hours than you did at your old job, here are some ways to avoid becoming a 24 hour a day worker again.

We all know how important it is to work hard to get your home business up and running and off the ground. We also know that when your home business is located right in your home, it is all too easy to get a few extra hours of work in after you eat dinner, or to get up early to work a little bit more in the morning.

However, the fact remains that most of the people who are working at home businesses have decided to do this so that they can control what hours they work, and so that they can have more time to themselves to do the things that they have always wanted to do. If you find yourself working too much, and you know that you are in danger of working longer hours than you did at your old job, here are some ways to avoid becoming a 24 hour a day worker again.

Hours

First and foremost, no matter what your business is, you need to have working hours. This is for your benefit. If you have an online site or an online store, you are going to be open 24 hours a day, but this doesn't mean that you have to be at your computer for the entire day. You need to set hours for yourself, and these hours will have to include time to process whatever has come in while you aren't working. There is a danger in sitting at your computer all day to take orders in the hopes of keeping up with them, because you will find that you never leave.

If you find that you have too much work, and not enough time, this means that you are taking on too much. You have to be sure that you are only working as much as you can handle to work, or that you are delegating tasks to make sure you aren't having to work all day and all night. This is something that a lot of people fail to do, and it can be something that is very dangerous, because giving out tasks is the best way to make sure all of your work gets done. If you find yourself with too much, you'll end up working more than you want to be working, so be sure to find help, or hire some if you need it.

Something else that you can be sure to do is to give yourself a break now and then. Remember that you don't have to take every project that comes your way, and remember that you can be allowed a sick day when you are sick. These things are important, and are also vital to keeping your sanity as well as your business.

Technology

Is there an automated way to delegate parts of your daily home business tasks? If there is, you might want to take the initial investment of time to find out how they work and how you can use technology to free up more time for yourself instead of working on your home business. You can even use the extra time to expand your business or look for new ways to make it profitable.

If your home business is based online there are many companies who you can use to outsource some of your responsibilities. Obviously these options aren't free so if your budget doesn't allow for it at the current time, keep a reminder of the source so that you can use it when more funds become available.

Description:

Check out this website. It is a free guide to create a free website and make money through Google adsense and some other simillar ad programs. It also tells about sites for get paid to click ADs, get paid to post discussions, blogs, comments and photos.

Content:

This article from http://makemoneyfreeadsense.blogspot.com,
As you use Google's AdSense for more and more time you begin to learn from the mistakes of the past, and you slowly begin to realize which of your actions kept your site from reaching its full potential.

But an important part to making a mistake is telling people about it and teaching them how to avoid making the same mistake. So this is a list of the top five mistakes people using AdSense make.
You should read them well, and see if any of them is applicable to your contents. If it is, you must stop and attempt to fix such errors as quickly as possible.

The first major no-no that everyone seems to be hitting at one point or another has to do with breaking the rules. Google's AdSense is a great program but it relies on you respecting a few set rules.

The most important thing is not to create "artificial clicks" through any means possible. Never click your own links, never ask your friends or close ones to click the links and never, by any means have your content encouraging the visitors to click the links. You run the risk of being permanently banned, and that will definitely damage your revenue.

Failing to comply with Google's terms could have your AdSense account suspended. And this is why this rule is by all means the most important one of all. It's because this is the difference between life or death.

The second thing users get wrong a lot of time is having a bad color palette for ads. Many times this happens because the publishers aren't knowledgeable enough to change default color palettes.

Others just can't seem to spend enough time in changing those defaults. Having bad ads that stand out is sure to push people away from clicking; whilst having something which is clearly visible yet distinctive will.
Third, of course, the position of the ads is probably the key element you should get right if you want to maximize your profits with AdSense. This is noted in a lot of places on the web and Google talks about this as well. Google can provide you with statistics which illustrate what positions work particularly well on your website.

Fourthly, banner ads are also a very bad idea if you're using AdSense. 480x60 type ads are a sure way to drive many people away as most Internet surfers have developed a natural resistance to such means of advertising.

And last, but clearly not least, is not taking care of the site running the ads. Because ultimately it doesn't matter how cool the site is itself. If it doesn't have updated contents and a lot of daily visitors it will probably never earn you any serious AdSense revenues.

So these are the most important five things people get wrong while using the AdSense program. But of course if you don't like this means of expressing the issues, here are the top five things you should do to ensure your AdSense ads are constantly bringing in that revenue.

Never break Google's policy. Don't make visitors create "artificial clicks" on your website regardless of the person doing so or the reason. Make sure your ads have the right colors that blend in with your site, and make sure they're positioned in the right places to attract as many customers as possible. Always try to avoid using banner-like (480x60) adds unless you really know what you're doing and constantly keep your site fresh and up to date.

So with that in mind you should be raising your AdSense revenues in no time.

Taking A Closer Look At Home Based Business Opportunities

Description:

This article points out some good factors to consider when searching for your niche, in order to create that perfect home based business opportunity.

Content:

If you are truly serious about making extra money or a full time living online, then you must not ignore the possibilities that are offered by home based business opportunities. These days, there are so many different opportunities available that picking your niche or choosing your destiny can become a real problem. Everyone who has the desire to earn any kind of serious money must acquire some sort of skill in evaluating the different home based business opportunities.

The first thing that you will probably have to consider will be to gauge yourself. You really do need to get to know yourself because you will essentially be working with yourself. You must at least need to be familiar with your own particular traits, including your talents, abilities, desires and areas where you know you'll need to have some self-discipline. Unless you find an opportunity that "fits" you, you probably won't be able to use it very well.

Here is a situation to consider: you are offered the opportunity to become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, one that primarily deals in oil. Your current occupation is a kindergarten teacher that specializes in art. Chances are, with a combination like this, the CEO position wouldn't be a good fit for you. Even though it's an incredible opportunity without a doubt, it just simply isn't one that really applies to the person that is involved. No matter how hard he works, the kindergarten teacher has, at the very best, a slim chance in making this opportunity work for him.

Conversely, if you are given even just a simple opportunity in an area that you truly love and are talented in, you will most likely succeed. Using our preceding example, let's imagine that our kindergarten teacher, aside from his teaching duties, is also an amateur painter. He is given the opportunity to show some of his work in a small exposition, and he works extra hard to improve his ability. In this specific case, the opportunity presented to him fits his talents and desires exactly. This could very well prove to be a good stepping stone to greater success.

All in all in evaluating home based business opportunities, the lesson is this: choose the right opportunities that suit you well; in areas that you have a passion for and have a considerable amount of talent in. You can never go wrong by following this simple path. If you have an interest in plants, you could easily start a plant nursery. If you are a book lover, you may want to consider starting your own book club. If you have a passion for beauty products, you could consider setting up a small shop selling your favorite items, maybe even mixing your own concoctions in order to create your very own personalized products. Your possibilities are truly endless and infinitely varied. Whether you want to sell goods or provide a certain type of service, you would only need to make sure that you provide your customers with a quality product at a reasonable price. As long as the product that you have to offer is useful, you shouldn't have any trouble at all making your own opportunities instead of waiting for them to come your way!

Registered Office: your Identity to the Companies House

Description:

For all the businessmen who want to conduct their business in the UK, running a registered office is a must. This office must be in places that are legally authorised for the purpose.

Content:

Running a business in the UK necessitates a registered office. This office is regarded as the official address of the company. No matter what the size of the business, running this office is a must. All the official mails are sent to this address. The official mails are important and need to be responded by the company secretary or whoever is responsible for it. So, running this office is mandatory on the part of the company owner.

As per UK company law, the registered office of a business firm does not have to be in the place from where the business is conducted. The office can be anywhere in the UK or Wales, if the business is run from somewhere within these places. If the business is conducted from anywhere in Scotland, the office should be there. However, this does not mean that one can have this office anywhere within the geographical location of these places.

The law says that the registered office of a company should be within the places that are legally authorised for the purpose. This makes it difficult for the owner of a business to manage an address for this type of office in the UK. So, taking help of some service provider becomes necessary. Fortunately, there are plenty of firms that offer service on registered office. Almost all of them have online presence; hence they can be approached via the Internet.

In order to take the service of the agents who manage addresses for registered office, one will have to pay some money. It can be paid on a yearly basis or in any other mode. The service providers not only manage an address but also offer other services. These services include forwarding the mails that are sent from the Companies House. To avail this and other services, the company owner will have to pay additional amount to them.
