If not, then you could probably consider a career counseling. It has been said that if ever one does not know where one should be going, then you will most probably end up in a different career.

Thanks to career counseling, it enables one to focus on where one should be going and just how it is to go there. A career counselor helps you to gain a broader perspective on yourself, your educational background and the possible career path that you could take. Always remember that is never too late to start on planning your career.

College or university choice

Believe or not, the choice of whether pursuing education through a college or university depends on you. Certain colleges for instance provide an education that is career oriented. This works especially for those types of people who need a balance between focusing on a job and education for the advancement of their career. There are programs that last for two, three years or just for one year.

Meanwhile, there are universities that provide science and arts program with a small number of specific and professional job programs. Programs in universities usually last a lot longer, about three or four years, or probably more. These are also tailored to students who enjoy studying just for the sake of it. Also, a university education is mostly a requirement for jobs such as a lawyer, doctor, or teachers.

Apprenticeship choice and vocational schools

There are also apprenticeships that are now available that students could readily take. Believe it or not, occupations that offer higher rates of pay are those that require skills.
Vocational schools have a range of choices and options that students could choose from.

Schools such as these emphasize career training similar to those in colleges, but their programs are a lot shorter. Of course, since these schools are not subsidized by governments, their tuition fees cost a lot more. Students should be aware that vocational schools are good and that are bad. Of course, these types of school works well for those students who are in a hurry.

Schools that lead to direct employment

This type of school is the usual choice for most students in the secondary level. Records show that for one hundred students in the secondary level, about thirty of these will drop out and go to work. Meanwhile, eighteen of these will study in university and about fourteen will go to college, and about two will be under apprenticeship.

Therefore, approximately sixty six from these one hundred students will be entering the work force and get jobs that pay well. Of course, there will be others who could try a lot of other jobs until they find that one job that fits them well.

These types of persons are usually browsing for a career, in that they move from one job to the next. Of course, the reality is that most companies now require education, this applies even to jobs that are in the entry level. Any options a student has to better their chances must be thought of carefully.

Why choose career counseling

A career counselor can help a student see the maze of choices and possibilities that are available and finally choose the one that best suits them. Be aware though that a career counselor does not choose a career for you. What they do is provide students with an evaluation of their skills and abilities as well as the work that are available out there.

Career counseling is not easy, but going through it sometimes could lead to possibly successful career choices.

Be self- aware

One stage of career counseling is helping students establish self- awareness. At this stage, any of your interests, skills, values, abilities, personal sensibilities, will have to be discovered. The questions commonly asked in this stage include; what are the activities you most enjoy doing? What are you good at?

Questionnaires can help in providing an objective perspective on aspects about yourself. By this stages end, any information relevant to your career needs are summarized. The implications of these results should mean something to you.

All in all, career counseling will work to your advantage if you let it. All you need is an open mind to accept possibilities yet a determined focus to be what you think you want to be.

When feeling anxious, stop what you are doing and try to do something that will relax you. A person should take a deep breath and try to find something to do for a few minutes to get their mind off of the problem. A person could get some fresh air, listen to some music, or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things.

Remember that our fearful thoughts are exaggerated and can make the problem worse. A good way to manage your worry is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or anxious, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense.

When overwhelmed with worry, a person may encounter a lot of scary thoughts coming at them all at once. Instead of getting upset, remember that these thoughts are exaggerated and are not based on reality. From my interviews with various professionals, I've learned that usually it is the fear behind the thoughts that gets us worked up. Ignore the fear behind these thoughts, and your worry should decrease.

Remember that all the worrying in the world will not change anything. I realized that most of what we worry about never comes true. Instead of worrying about something that probably won't happen, concentrate on what you are able to do. Everything else you can leave in the hands of God.

As a Layman, I realize it is not easy to deal with all of our fears. When your fears and anxieties have the best of you, try to calm down and then get the facts of the situation. The key is to take it slow. All you can do is to do your best each day, hope for the best, and when something does happen, take it in stride. Take things one step at a time, and things will work out.

I once read an article on entrepreneurs in a South African magazine. The author explained some of the characteristics of an entrepreneur and then he relates a story told to him by an entrepreneur who was asked, “What makes entrepreneurs different than the rest of us?”

“Well,” the entrepreneur said, “when I think of entrepreneurs I think of a spider. I once saw a spider spinning his web. He would take a thread - stick it to one side and then walk with it to the other side of where he would like to make his web.

When he came to the other side the thread broke and the spider had to walk back to the place where he first stuck his thread. He then stuck his thread to the place where it broke off and started walking back to where he wanted to stick the thread. And then, the same thing happened again. The thread broke. The spider went back to the same spot and stuck his thread back again from where it broke, just to start his journey all over again.

This happened about eight times before the first thread was stuck from one side to the other. This, my friend,” the entrepreneur said, “is the hallmark of a successful entrepreneur. He is too stupid to give up. He doesn't know any better but to persevere and ‘hang in’ there until it succeeds. He is not demotivated by early failures, but he learns from them.”

Entrepreneurs have a ‘no die’ attitude. They simply don’t give up when they start to encounter opposition, difficulties or closed doors. They know they have a race to run, until it is finished. I once heard a man said, “It is finished”, only after he has completed his whole mission. Now that is a true entrepreneurial spirit. To understand that you will encounter difficulties, but to have an attitude that you will not, YOU WILL NOT give up until you can say, “Mission accomplished!”

More often than not, I am afraid that the answer will be none!

The next time you are standing in the check-out line of your favorite store with several people in front of you, count how many times the customers actually thank the employees for the products that they just bought. Do you realize that customers do that? Isn't that backwards? The employee should be the one thanking the customer for his or her business.

Many times companies do not make it clear to their employees how very important each and every customer is to the business. Not only that, training is not given in regard to employee-customer relationships. Therefore, many employees lack the necessary skills that are needed to express their appreciation to the customer.

Many companies do not give much attention to customer appreciation. They can ill afford this if they want their business to grow. Not many years ago business was great so the emphasis on customer appreciation was not needed. Times have indeed changed! Now consumers are spending less money. It only seems right that in today's society customer appreciation should be a top priority. Here are a few tips to get you headed in the right direction:

Each member of your staff should understand the true worth of the customer. What is the customer worth in monetary terms? If your employees understand that customers mean more money, then they will readily express their appreciation. Most people understand that it takes more money to find a new customer than it does to hold on to an existing one. Your employees should be educated about the dollar value to the existing customers but also in trying to find new customers.

Outline in writing your expectations of what you want to happen with customer interactions. What exactly do your employees have to do in order to achieve a level of appreciation with each customer that meets your satisfaction? An example of a proactive expression of customer appreciation could be a simple and pleasant "hello". No matter how you conduct your business, that is, face-to-face, over the telephone or by way of the Internet, each customer should feel valued by your company. If you are not striving for consistent customer appreciation, you could lose a valuable customer!

Since showing appreciation is a skill that is learned, you should empower your employees with the necessary skills to do the job. Not only do these skills need to be taught, but they need to be reinforced many times before it becomes a habit. It would be a good idea to hire a mystery shopping company in order to check for the skills of customer appreciation. A recognition program should be set up to reward those employees who meet the company's expectations. This is a small price to pay in order to ensure that you have loyal customers!

It would be wise to create a customer appreciation plan. Just as you have a business plan to keep your business headed in the proper direction, so you should also have a marketing plan to help increase sales as well as attract new customers. It would be a good idea to have a customer appreciation plan in place in order to reward the loyal customers who do business with you. This plan should be designed to recognize and reward loyal customers. Put a frequent buyer program in place and hold customer appreciation events. Remember that customer appreciation is not just a one-time thing. Showing your customers how much you care will ensure their loyalty to your business.

Another good idea is to appoint a customer appreciation ambassador. Choose an employee who really cares about people, one who understands the true value of a customer and who comes across with an attitude that is helpful and caring toward your clients. They should understand that appreciation shown toward customers is a priority.

All of us like to be appreciated. If you want to have a loyal customer base, then it is of the utmost importance to show appreciation to your customers. The life blood of your business is getting customers and holding on to them. Make sure you do not lose another single customer because the customer thinks you do not care. Tell them each day that they are cared about and appreciated. They just may keep coming back to do business with you!

Candida Home Remedies: Simple Yet Effective

Unfortunately, if left unattended, candidiasis or infection brought about by the fungus candida albicans can cause serious damage to the body.

The good news is candidiasis, in its early stages, may not necessarily mean a trip to the doctor where you would incur expensive fees and medical bills. For the most part, home remedies have proven quite effective in combating the effects of candidiasis. The key is to administer these remedies early on.

Tea tree oil mouthwash

For oral thush:
Mix a few drops of tea tree oil (approximately 5 to 8 drops) into a glass of either warm or cold water. Gargle the mixture for about a minute. Let the solution touch all the parts of the mouth (throat, palate, cheek lining). Be careful not to swallow the solution. Gargle two times a day (preferably one in the morning and one before sleeping).

For vaginal yeast infection:
Add a few drops of tea tree oil onto a tampon or sterile gauze and apply on to the affected area. Replace every 4 to 6 hours.

Plain yogurt
Make sure it has absolutely no sugar and other ingredients added to it. The yogurt should contain live lactobacillus acidophilus, which are good bacteria that keep candida albicans in check.

For vaginal yeast infection:
Dip tampon in the yogurt and insert into the vagina. Use twice a day until the symptoms clear up and repeat for one more extra day for good measure.

For skin problems (cutaneous candidiasis)
Apply yogurt directly on the affected area. Not only will the yogurt address the fungal infection, but also the yogurt will lend a soothing effect and relieve severe itching and weeping. Let yogurt stand for an hour or so and wash off well. Keep affected area dry. Apply two to three times a day.

Apple cider vinegar

For oral thrush: Mix two (2) teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to one (1) cup cool water. Gargle with solution. Do not swallow. After gargling, dip a cotton swab in undiluted apple cider vinegar and apply directly on to the oral sores. Do not rinse. Allow to stand overnight.

For vaginal yeast infection:
Create a douching solution of one (1) tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and two (2) cups of water. Add one (1) garlic clove and allow the solution to stand for two hours before using for douching.

Changes in diet

Candida seems to thrive on high-sugar diets. So in order to "starve" the fungi, go on a low-to-no sugar diet, using sugar alternatives at best. Continue with this diet for as long as symptoms persist. In addition to the altered diet, make sure you receive sufficient doses of vitamins (A, B-complex, C) as well as minerals (iron and zinc).

This solution works best when the symptoms are becoming systemic, meaning that different parts of the body are affected all at the same time. (For example, in addition to vaginal yeast infection, you have also contracted skin and stomach problems as well.) Diabetics, however, need to consult with a medical professional before undergoing this measure.

Other solutions: Prevention worth a pound of cure

To prevent candida overgrowth, which is the prime cause of the disorders, observe these tips (especially for the women).

- Don't douche or clean inside the vagina. Do not use vaginal deodorants or perfumed soaps when washing the external area. You can strip the body of the natural elements that keep the fungus in check. At best, use plain water or a mild, pH-balanced cleanser.

- Avoid tight clothes (including underwear), especially ones made of nylon. These prevent proper aeration (breathing) of the skin. It encourages moisture to form in the body, which is prime breeding ground for fungi.

- Drink plenty of water to keep the body cool and to flush out toxins (including those produced by the candida fungus) out of your body.

- Have a good number of servings of bananas, yogurt, and garlic. These foods have been found to have lots of anti-fungal properties and if part of your regular diet, the chances of avoiding candidiasis are great.

- Do not skip meals and avoid keeping your stomach empty for long periods of time. You wreak havoc on a body that function best when working on routine time. Having irregular eating habits have been observed to increase the chances of candida overgrowth.

The key to all of these home remedies are early and quick detection. So in order to administer the right remedy, learn to recognize the symptoms.

However, should you be unsure of the indicators, always consult with a qualified and licensed medical professional. Listen to their advice and pair them with these home remedies. You just may be a step closer to ridding, if not totally avoiding, candidiasis and its nasty effects.

By understanding and increasing the value you provide to your organization, you have the ability to increase the amount of money you can earn.

Here are five ways to start increasing the value you provide to the organization and ultimately, the salary that you earn.

1. Specialize in a new area. Research upcoming trends in your industry or find an area of weakness in your organization and establish yourself as the expert. It may require additional education, training or certifications, but if you are the go-to person for all related matters, you become an indispensable asset.

2. Make a direct impact on the bottom line. The sole purpose of every company is to generate a profit. Suggest a new way to service your existing customer base to create a new income stream. If you do not work directly in a revenue producing area of business, implement new practices that will save the company money. Calculate the impact you have on the bottom line and your value will be evident.
