Setting Realistic Goals

When we make a sale, or take one step closer to meeting our goal, we are overcome with a felling of achievement which motivates us to sell more.

I'm sure that anybody who is reading this article has been in the situation where they may have been given unobtainable goals from one of their bosses, sales manager's, or some higher up somewhere in the company.

When goals are given that are unrealistic, the mission is doomed from the beginning. It immediately gives a feeling of despair to the sales team, which can be devastating to morale.

The sales team will do their duty and work as hard as they can to obtain the goals, but when they fall short, they will have feelings of failure, and will be reluctant to move on.

Simply stated, unrealistic goals, take the fun out of selling.

A personal story . . .

During my years in the banking industry, I managed a sales team in a small branch inside of a grocery store. This is what is known as In-store banking. It was estimated that seven thousand people came through the grocery store where my branch was located on a weekly basis.

With that statistic, my sales team was given a goal of opening up six checking accounts per day, among other things.

This would be a monthly goal of one hundred and eighty checking accounts per month. To me and my team, this was highly unrealistic.

Then, In-store banking was brand new to the banking industry, and these goals were being handed down by people who never once stepped foot in an in-store branch.

Please understand, I am not bitter about this, I am just stating the facts, and believe this to be an on going problem with companies.

This problem works both ways. Sometimes the goals being handed down are not enough, and a sales team will fall short of what their potential could be.

Needless to say, my sales team never met their daily, weekly, or monthly goals. We did however, fight the good fight and manage to hold our own. But morale was never what it should have been.

Every six months my team and I would attend the semiannual sales rally, where we would sit and watch as the other branches so proudly accepted their awards for meeting their goals. It pained me to watch my team walk away empty handed knowing that they worked so hard.

My point is, when goals are being set, they need to be realistic and obtainable. The more you or your team reach their goal the more motivated they will be.

Once you are reaching your goal at a steady pace, challenge yourself or your team, and raise the bar. Challenge them to reach higher on a daily basis

Keep in mind, when you raise the bar, keep this new goal realistic as well, you don't want to become over confident and put your goals out of reach.

One last thing . . .

The goals that are being set, should be put in place by a person or people who know you, your staff, and your demographics. Not by somebody in an ivory tower.

If they are not being put into place by the appropriate people, suggest this idea to someone in your organization that you can trust.

Out of the Past

Description:

Exploring past mistakes your prospective customers made helps them keep history from repeating itself, as well as helping them continue doing the things they did right. Either way, you get to position yourself and your product as the key to a brighter business future for your customers.

Content:

Philosopher George Santayana was onto something when he said that those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it. That's why it pays for you to explore past mistakes your prospective customer's company has made, and help him keep history from repeating itself. Confining yourself to questions about the present bores your prospects -- after all, they already know what's going on now. Questions about the future are useful, but they're even more so when you have knowledge of past history to extrapolate from.

Maybe you fear that dwelling on what happened at your new prospect's company last year, or even last month, is irrelevant at best or even painful for your prospect at worst -- why dwell on past mistakes? Maybe you're thinking, "You can't change the past, can you? So why bother asking questions about it?" Or if you do ask your prospect a question about the past, it's simply a warm-up question, such as, "How long have you been with the company?"

Let's say you're interviewing a prospective employee. You wouldn't focus all of your questioning on the present or the future, would you? You'd want to know what that prospective employee had done in the past, what she'd accomplished, and how she'd made her choices. It's the exact same process when you're getting to know your sales prospects -- you're interviewing them! And of course, the more carefully you listen to their answers, the more relevant your subsequent questions will be.

MAKE YOURSELF A SALES ARCHEOLOGIST

Just as archeologists dig deep to learn about the world's past history, you'll learn plenty of things to help both your prospect and you when you ask questions about his company's past. Delving into the history of your prospect and his company is a great way to understand his priorities, motives, and behaviors. After all, everything you need to know about a customer can be found in the past, so why not spend more time there?

Questions about the past let you discover the best way to sell to your customers in the present and future. These questions -- and obviously, the answers -- also help you to unearth your customers' histories, allowing you to:

* Understand the problems they've encountered in the past. * Comprehend the magnitude and outcome of those problems. * Familiarize yourself with the people involved. * Get a handle on their former or current vendor relationships, including the strength of those relationships. * Get a feel for the trends, organizational changes, or competitive threats they've weathered.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PAST THAT CAN HELP YOU NOW

* "What would you say is different about your organization today from when you started with this company?" * "What originally led you to work for this company? What were your expectations when you came on board, and how have they changed since you've been here?" * "Since you've been with the company, what have been some of the biggest hurdles you've faced?" * "Could you tell me about the changes your department has gone through recently? What challenges or opportunities did those changes create for you?" * "As you look back on your career, what has given you the greatest sense of accomplishment?" * "What's been your toughest project recently?" * "If you could do it over again, what would you do differently?" * "What have been some of your likes and dislikes with vendors in the past?" * "Can you give me an example of a recent incident in which you had to deal with _____ problem?" * "What has been a market trend you've seen in the past few years? What steps did you have to take to adapt to this trend?"

When you ask questions like these, you're showing your prospective customer that there's a difference between merely dwelling on past mistakes -- or worse, ignoring them and Santayana's wise words -- and actually learning lessons from those mistakes. This helps you position yourself and your product as your prospect's best shot at truly making those mistakes a thing of the past. Digging into your prospect's past can also remind them of the things they did right, a process you can help them continue in even better ways than they did before. Either way, both you and your customers benefit.

Free Web Hosts Are Not Good for Business

Description:

Free websites are not good for business

Content:

Small business owners who want a web site but don't want to pay for a domain name or for hosting many times will go to a free web hosting service for their web site. They may be doing themselves a disservice in the long run.

These free web hosts may be good for personal sites and photos of your children with their dog, but don't use them for business. There are several reasons why.

First, most free web hosting companies make their revenues with banner ads. They place these on your web site. Do you really want your customers going to your web site and seeing an ad to another business that you didn't approve of? Thought not.

Another reason free web hosting doesn't cut it is the service. Many times the service is poor, if there is any service at all. If you have customer or technical support issues, you'll want them to be handled promptly or you run the risk of losing customers. Bill and Ted, who work full time as stock boys at the local supermarket, aren't going to cut it.

Thirdly, most free web hosting services offer limited packages. They may support just one e-mail address or offer a low bandwidth transfer and may not support certain scripts such as Flash or CSS. You'll want a host that is flexible and able to support the latest web design tools.

Free web hosting isn't free. You'll pay for it somewhere along the line. Either it will destroy your company image, sacrifice your customer service, or you'll have to eventually upgrade to a paid service because the free hosting won't support your needs.

Because search engines now look for certain characteristics of web sites that many free web hosts do not possess, your customers may not find you when they perform a Google or Yahoo search. Web designers are now incorporating search engine optimization strategies in their design elements and free web hosts simply do not have the resources to support these new tools.

Search engine optimization strategies require savvy coding. You can't, like in the old days, just write up an HTML page with your trusty HTML editor and FTP it to your host, then wait for the visitors to come. People go online to look for information and they expect to find the best information available. The search engines make that search possible and have figured out how to make searches easier and more trustworthy for searchers. The job of a web designer is to figure out how to design their pages well enough to give search engines the information they need to help searchers find their pages. Free web hosts are more of an obstacle to that end than a help.

If you want a web site that you can be proud of and that visitors will find, do yourself a favor. Don't use free web hosts.

Improve Your Business Profits By Calculating The Lifetime Value Of A Customer

Description:

Calculate The Lifetime Value Of A New Customer Before You Make Important Financial Decisions

Content:

Small business owners, home based entrepreneurs, and online business owners are always looking for ways to improve their profits.

Let us start our discussion by estimating The Lifetime Cash Receipts Value of a new customer for your business.

We need to use a two step procedure.

Step #1: Estimate, on average, how much a new customer will spend with you for one year.

Step #2: Estimate, on average, how many years a new customer will stay with your business firm.

Let us use an example to make the calculation.

We will use Starbucks Coffee Shops to illustrate the calculations involved.

Let us say the typical customer spends $5.00 per trip and she comes in four times per week, or spends $20.00 per week. Also, she comes in fifty (50) weeks per year. Accordingly, she spends $1,000 per year ($5.00 times 4 times 50).

We now know that a new customer for Starbucks will spend $1,000 in cash for her coffee. That is the first step.

The second step is to estimate how many years she will continue to visit Starbucks. That answer is twenty-five (25) years.

We know the life-time cash receipts value of a new customer is $25,000.

Now, you understand why Starbuck employees treat each customer like he or she is like a king or queen.

Note: The author simply used Starbucks as an example. I am a customer and simply used my best guess. The actual number is known only by Starbucks management.

The challenge is for you to estimate The Lifetime Cash Receipts Value of a new customer for your business.

If you are an internet based business, what is the cash receipts value of one new customer for your business?

If you have a home-based business model, what is the magical number?

The cash value will be different for each industry, but the concept is valid for each different industry.

And once you know the life-time value you can use it to make advertising, selling, and marketing decisions.

How much are you willing to spend to acquire a new customer?

How much will your competitor spend to take a customer away from you?

If you lose a customer, for whatever reason, what does it cost your business in lost profits?

How much do you lose the first year?

How much do you lose over the life of the customer?

Let us go back to the Starbucks example to calculate the lost profits. Let us assume that the typical customer makes a 50% contribution to overhead and profits.

We use this percent and multiply times the first year sales estimate. We said earlier that the typical customer would spend $1,000 per year. By multiplying 50% times $1,000 we arrive at an estimate of $500 per year. In other words, we lose $500 in contribution to overhead and profits for each customer lost.

If we lose 10 customers to the competition, then we have lost $5,000 in contribution to overhead and profits. That number is arrived at by multiplying 10 times the $500 per customer.

Also, if we lose 100 customers, then the lost profits become $50,000 per year. Clearly, it is very expensive to lose a customer for whatever reason.

What about the lost profits over the life of the customer?

Earlier in our discussion, we used twenty-five (25) years as the useful life of a customer.

We would multiply the $500 per year in lost profits times 25 years, which would be $12,500 per year.
In my opinion, losing $500 per year per customer for twenty-five (25) years is a substantial loss of profits.

And when a customer is lost due to poor customer service by an employee, it is almost unacceptable to the owner/management team.

Small business owners, home based entrepreneurs and online business owners are always looking for ways to improve their business profits. By calculating the Lifetime Value of a new customer, then the owner/entrepreneur can start making better decisions about sales and marketing activities, especially customer acquisition and retention.

And I will conclude this article by asking a question.

What is your plan to calculate the life-time value of a new customer for your business?

Getting Started With Your Internet Home Business

Description:

Do you want to avoid every mistake that people make when starting and Internet home business? Do you want to be totally prepared to run a successful business? Then stop studying today! That's right -- stop preparing yourself to run a business from home.

Content:

Do you want to avoid every mistake that people make when starting and Internet home business? Do you want to be totally prepared to run a successful business? Then stop studying today! That's right—stop preparing yourself to run a business from home.

If you want to have a successful Internet home business of your very own, it is time for you to put the knowledge you already have to use. I'm sorry to break this to you—but yes, it is now time to do something.

The most common obstacle for people that want to run a business from home is actually getting started. They may have tons of information in front of them but still have no clue where to start. It really doesn't matter where you start, just so you do something that is needed to build the business that you want today.

Basic fears that we all have stop most people from getting started. Fear of being a failure and looking foolish to others is a huge obstacle for many. When you learn to disregard what other people think or say, and take any bad comments as constructive criticism, you will be well on your way to actually getting started.

The cure for all of your fears is taking action. It's great that you are trying to avoid common mistakes, but always remember that you will make mistakes. You WILL have failures just like most successful business owners. By taking action you will get through your failures and get closer to your first taste of success.

You should never stop learning about business. Keep studying while you are testing your marketing and building your Internet home business. Once you have started, you will gain momentum that will make it easier for you to continue learning while you are taking action.

The biggest names in online marketing take massive action to achieve the results they do. But at the same time spend tens of thousands of dollars each year on learning resources so they can take their business to the next level. They are never satisfied. That is a good lesson to learn.

Have you been studying how to start and build an Internet home business for years but haven't actually done anything? You now have permission to stop studying and take action. Once you are regularly doing something to build your business, continue studying and learning at the same time.

But never stop taking action.

If you actually do something, you can have the Internet home business that you've been dreaming of. Now it's up to you to put it all into motion.

4 Steps to Increase Your Confidence During Job Interviews

Description:

One of the most important things to bring to a job interview is your confidence. This article outline 4 key steps that will help you confidently answer difficult interview questions and secure the job.

Content:

So, you have finally moved beyond the prescreening phase and have landed the job interview! Your resume set the stage to get you in the door, and now here is your chance to ice the cake. The interview, as you are well aware, is what will either move you towards completion of your goal - or it will be the last step in a lengthy series of steps you have already undertaken. Question: how can you succeed within the interview?

Assuming that you have appropriately prepared yourself for the interview, then the interview should be easy. However, despite all of the preparation, even the best falter when sitting down face to face with a hiring manager or human resources staff. It is one thing to outline who you are on a piece of paper (the resume), it is something else to actually explain who you are in person and face-to-face with another person. The one question most of us dread having to answer is: "Tell me about yourself." Do they want to know where you previously worked..or where you were born? I mean, there are just so many ways to go with that unbelievably dreaded question. Here is a quick tip: the "tell me about yourself question" is simply asking you to "tell me why you are sitting here, today, interviewing for this specific job?" That is it, nothing more.

So, what are the 4 steps to succeed within a job interview? The best career advice, as it relates to job interviews, career development, etc., is one that encourages the candidate to creatively customize the steps. So the following steps below apply regardless if you are seeking a position as an educator or a computer programmer, a manager or a salesclerk. The most important thing to remember is that every interviewer has a particular goal in mind. If you use these 4 steps, then you are likely to cover all the bases.

The four steps specifically deal with how you manage your response to the interviewer's questions. Did you catch the word "manage" as it was used in the previous sentence? Yes, I am talking about how you manage the process - - take control of the interview - -. So, when the interviewer asks you a question (i.e., tell me how you handle an angry customer) here are the four steps, as promised:

1) Provide a brief description of the situation: "One of my customers was unhappy with our XYZ widgets."

2) Add some detail to describe the specific task or role you were assigned to deal with the situation: "I was responsible for dealing directly with our department's major clients and so, I was charged with turning the situation around for this unhappy customer."

3) Provide one or two key action steps you took to handle the situation: "I contacted the customer directly and requested feedback. I authorized a refund or future discounts to this particular customer."

4) As a RESULT of your action steps, what happened? "As a result of the refund and discount, the customer increased their orders by 25%."

The four steps may be interchangeable - - you describe step 4 (the results) prior to step 1 (the situation), however, the key is to be able to list specific results that were gained. Most importantly, the results have to be tied directly to your action steps. Interviewers are looking for RESULTS, not just generalities ("I think I would make a good employee for your company"; or worse yet, "I am good with clients because I enjoy relating to others."). They need hard facts, verifiable data. And you are the most qualified candidate who is prepared to give it to them.

A bit of caution: please do not create a script to memorize these 4 steps. Ok, if it makes you feel comfortable, and better prepared, then you can write specific responses to the typical interview questions and follow the 4 steps above. Review it, then throw the script away. What is important is that you remember the 4 steps and can apply them to your own career success stories.

The best type of job interview is one that unfolds into a content-rich discussion of how your specific qualifications match the needs of the company. It is important for the interviewer to be able to see how you fit within the company environment and culture. Of course, one interview may not provide all of this detail - - but you want to give yourself a good head start. Succeeding within the interview requires extensive preparation, an understanding of how to tailor your capabilities within the scope of the company's needs, and your ability to provide details related to how you can provide desired results as a future employee.

Getting A Job With Help From Microsoft Office

Description:

Getting a new job can often be just as challenging and stressful as being employed! When job hunting, you have a large number of contacts to keep track of, CVs and covering letters to write, interviews to prepare for and appointments to keep.

Content:

Getting a new job can often be just as challenging and stressful as being employed! When job hunting, you have a large number of contacts to keep track of, CVs and covering letters to write, interviews to prepare for and appointments to keep. Learning how to use Microsoft Office applications to improve this process will help you become more organised and well prepared, giving you a real advantage over other applicants.

Job Applications
If you use Microsoft Word, creating your CV and covering letters need not be a time consuming task. Template documents can be quickly and easily prepared, and these can then be simply amended for specific job applications. The array of formatting options available can be used to give your documents an individual and professional look. Basic templates for these documents are available so that you can avoid the daunting prospect of having to start with a blank page.

Microsoft Outlook has far more to offer than its main use as an e-mail application. The calendar, task and contact management parts of the program enable the contact details of prospective employers, together with details of any appointments and interviews that have been arranged, to be stored and managed in one central location.

Interviews
It is increasingly common to be required to undertake some sort of presentation as part of the interview process. The nature of such presentations and the amount of research and preparation required will vary depending on the nature of the job. In all cases the quality with which the information is presented will be key. Hand drawn overhead projector slides or typed out handouts are no longer acceptable. Having knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint allows you to create clear, easy to read slides that can include charts, photos and graphics. Not only will these be a great aid in getting your message across but they demonstrate your professionalism and make you stand out from the crowd.
However, remember to keep it simple. Nobody likes 'death by powerpoint'.

Demonstrating Skills
Acquiring and developing new skills is a great way to make your CV shine above others. Most people will say they have some knowledge of the various Microsoft Office applications but providing proof of your proficiency demonstrates this fact. The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification is an internationally recognised qualification that provides proof of the user's competency in a range of Microsoft Office skills. Obtaining such qualifications makes you much more marketable.

Conclusion

Top Ten Reasons Why You Should Be A Travel Nurse

Description:

Travel nursing is a wonderful option for all nurses and other medical professionals. Here are ten reason why you should consider it.

Content:

Travel Nursing offers a wonderful opportunity to nurses and other medical professionas to see the United States, work in the best hospitals, travel with friends and family, and make more money than working as staff.

Here are the top ten reasons you should consider this amazing opportunity.

1. You get to visit cities you otherwise would probably not get to experience. Sure you may visit, but living there and visiting are two different things. For example, when you visit San Francisco, you see the major sights and attractions, you do the tourist thing, and you go home. When you actually get to live there for three months or more, you get to experience all of Northern California, and discover the places that locals frequent. These are the places that make San Francisco the hip spot it is.

2. You get to work in a variety of the best hospitals around the country. This helps you to enhance you skills, learn different methods of care, meet fellow nurses and doctors, and enhance your resume. Want to work at the nest childrens hospital in the country? You can do it. Want to work at the top cancer centers? You can do it. Anything you want to do, is available to you because of the seasonal need for nurses.

3. Since your housing and other smaller expenses are usually paid for by the travel nurse company, you actually make more money than when at home. When in your home city you still have to pay rent, mortgage, light, water, etc. While traveling, these should be taken care of by the travel nurse company. This leaves you with food, fun, and car expenses. Many of the travel nurse companies also provide great health insurance that can offset whatever you pay for any regular medications.

4. You get to meet new people and make more friends. Not only will you meet fellow travel nurses, but you will meet the regular staff nurses who make great sources of information about the local area. Then you can also meet your neighbors staying in the same apartment complex or rv park as you. Get close enough, and you will always have a place to stay if you ever decide to come back to this city once your assignment is over.

5. If you are thinking of moving to a new city, travel nursing gives you the ultimate way to check things out before you make the commitment. You can actually work at the hospital you are considering applying to. You can check out the different neighborhoods. You can even start searching for an apartment or home to buy in the three months you will be there.

6. You have the opportunity to have family and friends over to visit you in your new assignment. If you can make your schedule so you can have a few days off together, you all can visit all the sights together. It is much cheaper than taking a vacation.

7. You do not get involved in hospital politics. Every job has politics and so does every hospital. While on assignment you will see it happening but since you will be gone in a few weeks, you do not have to be bothered by it or get involved. You also get to avoid the boring meetings or classes the regular staff has to participate in because they are permanent. You get to just come in, do your work and leave.

8. You can travel with your family, a friend, or another nurse. Many travel nurse companies offer private housing. This is great if you have your spouse with you or another friend. Many long term travel nurses travel everywhere in their RV with their entire family. Kids included.

9. You can travel whenever you want. If you live in a city that you love, but do not like the extremely cold winters, you can do a travel assignment to a warm sunny place in winter time. Or if you live in a place that has hot muggy summers you can travel to a cooler place and spend the summer months there. For example, anyone living in say Houston, would probably like to spend the summer months in a cooler place. Maybe even Alaska. This is possible only through travel nursing

10. Travel nursing is great to build your personal skills: communication, self-esteem, confidence, become more vocal, and more independent. You become a better nurse by learning new ideas and skills. You make your own travel plans, you get to live on your own for a while, you learn to stand up for yourself when the situation calls for it. You grow as a person in many, many ways.

How a Team Building Competition your Activity Day

Description:

A team building competition can be used to spice up your corporate activity day. Some of the most common team building competition activities include racing and relay games as well as “thinking” games.

Content:

A team building competition can be used to spice up your corporate activity day. Some of the most common team building competition activities include racing and relay games as well as “thinking” games.

Some of the racing games that team building groups (employees) will participate in include quad racing, buggy racing, and blindfold driving days. All of these games have somewhat of a similar object-for participants to react quickly and safely.

However, for the most part these games are considered pure “fun”. In fact, sometimes these games will seem so much fun that employees may forget that the team building day they are attending is mandatory.

One of the most recommended places for your employee group to participate in activity days is the driving center in Nottingham. However, there are plenty of other places in the UK where you can plan your corporate fun day as well.

Other team building competition games may require more thought. For instance, one of the more intense team building competition games is called “Mission X”. The object of this game is to use clues to find the whereabouts of a kidnapped co-worker.

Tools that are used for this event include a map, compass, and a keen sense of direction-which hopefully at least one of your team members has! The activities that usually accompany a game such as Mission X include target shooting and the solving of clues.

The important of the Mission X activity is that it helps people in highly dangerous or highly challenging work roles to be prepared for anything. This is considered one of the highest forms of problem-solving exercises that a corporate team can be involved in-and it is a fun competition as well.

Another example of a fun competitive game that can be played by employee teams includes challenge games. One of the most involve thinking games that is sometimes played for team building competition event days is one that involves the assembly and launch of a rocket.

This particular activity requires following directions and co-operation. It is very crucial that the rocket be built right or it will not launch properly. Other games that are planned at a corporate activity day are not quite as demanding.

Clay pigeon is one of those types of games. However, it is also still very competitive. Clay pigeon shooting usually involves the act of shooting laser guns at flying clay targets. The person who shoots the most “pigeons” will win the most points.

By the way, if your corporate team chooses to participate in any one of the games mentioned safety is encouraged. Usually a short briefing will precede nearly any game that you play.

The purpose of fun competitive game activities is to help encourage employees to have fun with one another. A little healthy competition in the work place can actually foster greater productivity, because it acts as an incentive for employees to produce results.

In other words, team building competition events provide a greater incentive for each employee to try their best and to work hard. Without competition, less would most likely get done in the workplace.

How Netpreneurs can Focus and still Create Multiple Streams of Income

Description:

The biggest problem in internet marketing is to maintain focus because of the multiple opportunities available on the net. There are creative programmes that help you to maintain focus and still have multiple sources of income to spread your risk.

Content:

The singular reason why Netpreneurs fail to succeed on the internet is due to the multiple choices it offers to create wealth online. I have been guilty of it in the past when I started out on the net because I lacked self discipline and joined so many programs that I could barely find time, money or energy to sustain them.

Concept of Multiple Streams of Income is excellent but if one looses focus then there is no possibility to succeed on the internet. Our time and advertising budget gets spread out and it reduces the possibility to improve the ranking of our website on the search engines. Fortunately there are few excellent programs on the internet that not only club best programs together but also provide business system and training to succeed on the internet. Netpreneurs must take advantage of these programs when they start out. This is the easiest way to succeed on the internet within shortest period of time.

There are plug in programs that provide entrepreneurs with free Web sites as part of an incentive to affiliates. The best researched opportunities on the internet are integrated into one system on these websites. When you sign up for the system you will be required to sign up for the programs individually. Most of these programs are free to join but some may have a small price tag. The free website that is created for you will have the IDs of your programs embedded in them. Then by advertising and promoting one website it is possible to promote all the opportunities simultaneously. This greatly cuts down your time, effort and costs.

Entrepreneurs who join any or all of the programs start to see a profit right away. It generally takes 24 hours maximum to have your Web site built and visible on the World Wide Web. Each entrepreneur has the liberty to pick her or his own domain name and provides her or his own log. This is prominently displayed at the top of the home page.

Another advantage of joining such programs is that they provide their members with online marketing tips and ongoing training to develop skill necessary to succeed online. You will even be able to participate in a members-only online forums to ask questions and get them answered by experts in the field.

By joining a plug in program you are generally provided with your own professionally written e-mail newsletter that will market your company for up to 400 days in a row. This is given to you free of charge. You are also provided with a free auto responder that will automatically send these letters for you to market your business opportunity.

Most plug in programs provide Web site and newsletter marketing program that is very customizable, allowing each entrepreneur to change the promotions and the look of the site and newsletter as she or he wishes.

For a new netpreneur or a seasoned professional these plug in programs are the cheapest and most sensible way to start out on the net. Such programs provide you with a complete business system that keeps you focused and provides training not only to you but your downline and business partners thereby ensuring your success in your online venture. There is no hype and you can create multiple streams of income staying focused with the best selected programs on the internet.

Why people fail in business either online or offline is due to the fact that most businesses suffer from lack of systems. To succeed you need a sound business system to keep the business on track. On the internet their are so many fly by night operators who wish to create instant wealth. Internet does provide tremendous flexibility and reduction in advertisement costs. But without proper systems in place most businesses are destined to fail. The plug in systems help netreneurs to overcome this major hurdle.

Great Job as Mystery Shopper

Description:

What does it mean to be a mystery shopper? It is quite simple - a person is paid to visit local stores and evaluate the kind of service they get.

Content:

What does it mean to be a mystery shopper? It is quite simple - a person is paid to visit local stores and evaluate the kind of service they get. They enter the store and acts like an ordinary customer, just to keep the identity of mystery shopper a secret. A mystery shopper evaluates different aspects of the service while they are in the store.

Mystery shoppers provide businesses with more information through the use of questionnaires and detailed narratives. These questionnaires provide businesses with an unbiased opinion of how they are perceived by the customer.

Mystery shoppers relieve the owner of this added responsibility. Business owners who are presently using these kind of services are now getting a more realistic picture of how their customers perceive their company.

The mystery shopper company work with their clients to establish mechanisms to measure and improve the levels of service. The information from a mystery shopper is reported to the management of the clients and they use it to evaluate and improve their customer service. Ultimately the purpose of mystery shoppers is to help businesses increase sales.

If you work as a mystery shopper you will be paid to shop. That is right, a mystery shopper is paid to evaluate different types of customer experiences.

You can be paid to - Fill up your car with gas - Have dinner on a local restaurant - Shop in your local hardware store - Request information about a computer - Sometimes you will be paid for working from home. Some tasks can and should be performed by a phone call.

The list can be very long because the number of businesses using this method to collect information is very long. And it is increasing for every day.

The best thing about being a mystery shopper is that you are paid for everything you purchase. If you have lunch or dinner - your expenses are paid for. If you watch a movie you will be paid for the ticket and the job you do. This is really an opportunity for many. Why do big companies use mystery shoppers?

How many times have you left a store dissatisfied with the service you got? How many times will you go back to that store again? It is not surprising to find that many organizations are very interested in making a good impression, the impression they make on you, the customer, is vital for their company.

So feedback from mystery shoppers are often a key factor for those companies in their efforts to improve the standards for customer service. Persons that think they have something to add to the ongoing improvement of customer service are suitable for a job as a mystery shopper. If you like to shop and get paid for it, you can have the perfect job.

So what is the catch?

There is no catch! It is free to become a mystery shopper. You will be trained to collect the information the companies want and need. If you have the time you have nothing to loose but a lot to win.

Finally, there is an organisation, MSPA, which is the largest professional trade association dedicated to improving service quality using anonymous resources. MSPA have over 150 member companies worldwide and they have a diverse membership including marketing research and merchandising companies, private investigation firms, training organizations and companies that specialize in providing mystery shopping services.

Make Way For A New Freelance Writer

Description:

The avenues for successfully publishing everything from articles to short stories, poetry to how-to articles and inspirational thoughts to web content has never been more impressive.

Content:

The avenues for successfully publishing everything from articles to short stories, poetry to how-to articles and inspirational thoughts to web content has never been more impressive.

Perhaps the greatest struggle for web writers is defining the opportunities that best suit their individual tastes and level of comfort.

For some, the advent of freelance bidding sites has been a help in locating opportunities the writer may feel especially qualified for. The struggle with this approach is that bidding sites often see bids for as little as a dollar per article. For many writers this is a disrespectful price for their work.

However, if a client can receive work at this price in a bid process they may believe it to be a cost effective way to gain content at a price that is generally below their budgeted amount for the project.

What often happens is articles purchased at these cutthroat prices are often completed by off shore freelancers that may not have a complete grasp on the American English language and may not be equipped to write an article with the correct vernacular.

In many cases these articles need revisions. The individual who purchased the articles is then left with three choices.

1. Refuse payment because the articles were not up to standard.

2. Revise the material personally.

3. Pay a second party to provide copyediting services.

Those who seek content often find it is still cheaper to pay the extra for copyediting services than to pay a higher fixed amount for original writing from other services. However, for some this scenario creates a bit of a nightmare and may ultimately require the payment of a secondary writer to meet their writing objectives by writing entirely new content.

Many companies seeking quality content are more than happy to pay a higher amount if they locate a writer that can deliver timely content in a manner that is largely error-free.

Much of the income a freelance writer may find is due to satisfied customers that return for additional material and refer their business associates to the writer for similar work.

If you are a freelance writer, take heart, there is room for you, but you need to produce quality original content that is delivered on (or before) deadline. Be professional and willing to fix any mistakes that may be discovered. Make customer service a priority.

You can receive fair payment for your work, but you must make sure the quality of your work is at a high enough standard that your client feels as if they have received a bargain.

Do You Know Why Personal Skin Care Is A Routine?

Description:

I hope this article helps you understand a little more about the reality of skin care and how you should go about taking your first steps toward a healthy skin. There is no doubt on the importance of skin care.

Content:

I hope this article helps you understand a little more about the reality of skin care and how you should go about taking your first steps toward a healthy skin.

There is no doubt on the importance of skin care. The opinion on how-to (for personal skin care) differs from person to person. Some people believe that going to beauty parlours every other day is personal skin care. Many people believe that just applying some cream, lotion or something else to your skin, every now and then, will solve their problems. Then there are people who think that personal skin care is an event that happens once a month or once a year. Still others busy themselves with ‘personal skin care' all the time. However, personal skin care is not that complicated and neither is it that expensive (considering how beneficial it is). Personal skin care is following a routine or a procedure for attending to the needs of your skin.

You nee to determine your skin-type, even befor you start with a routine(oily, dry, sensitive, normal etc) and select the personal skin care products suitable for it (you might have to experiment with a few personal skin care products). Here is a routine that should work for most people with normal skin.

The first thing you must do on personal skin care routine is ‘Cleansing'. The three main ingredients of a cleanser are oil, water and surfactants (wetting agents). Oil and surfactants extract dirt and oil from your skin and water then flushes it out, thus making your skin clean. You might have to try a couple of cleansers before you find the one that suits you the best. Actually, you should always use soap-free cleansers. Also, you should use Luke warm water for cleansing (hot and cold water, both, cause damage to your skin). Take care that you don't over-cleanse your skin and end up damaging your skin in the process.

The second thing on the personal skin care routine is exfoliation. Skin follows a natural maintenance process wherein it removes the dead cells and replaces them with new skin cells. Exfoliation is just a way to facilitate the skin in this process. Dead skin cells are not capable of responding to personal skin care products but still consume these products, hence preventing them from reaching the new skin cells. Thus removing dead skin cells is important in order to increase the effectiveness of all personal skin care products. Generally, exfoliation takes it place just after cleansing. As with any personal skin care procedure, it's important that you understand how much exfoliation you need. Exfoliate 4-5 times per week for oily/normal skin and 1-2 times per week for dry/sensitive skin. Exfoliate a couple of times more in hot and humid weather.

Be aware that Personal skin care is something everyone should take care of since young, if not, when we get older we are going to see the results of not caring about ourselfes.

Ok, Next thing on personal skin care routine is moisturizers. This is one of the most important and basic things in personal skin care. Even people with oily skin need moisturisers. Moisturisers not only seal the moisture in your skin cells, but also attract moisture (from air) whenever needed. Use of too much moisturiser can however clog skin pores and end up harming your skin. The amount of moisturiser needed by your skin will become apparent to you within one week of you using the moisturiser. Also, applying the moisturiser is best when your skin is still damp.

The last thing on personal skin care routine is sunscreen. A lot of moisturizers (day-time creams/moisturisers) come with UV protection - so you can get double benefits from them. Such moisturisers are recommended for all days (irrespective of whether it is sunny or cloudy).

Again, experiment with various personal skin care products and also with the amount you need to apply. What gives you best results is the best personal skin care recipe for you. However, if you have some kind of skin dilemma, it is best to consult your dermatologist before you actually start using any personal skin care products.

I hope that reading the above information was both enjoyable and educational for you. Your learning process should be ongoing—the more you understand about personal skin care, the more you will be able to prevent skin problems.

Business At Home Jobs- Dealing With Employees

Description:

Many businesses that begin in the garage or a room in the home quickly expand and suddenly they have taken over the entire basement, hired employees and are dealing with expansion issues. This short article discusses several issues associated with hiring employees, contractors and casual workers.

Content:

Many businesses that begin in the garage or a room in the home quickly expand and suddenly they have taken over the entire basement, hired employees and are dealing with expansion issues. This short article discusses several issues associated with hiring employees, contractors and casual workers.

You may have been working with your small business out of your home for some time, business has been good and now you are ready to expand. Suddenly you are dealing with employment issues such as hiring, benefits, and deductions at source, government filings. Many small business owners throw up their hands and decide it is just not worth it to deal with all of the personal and personnel issues that are involved with dealing with employees. There is also liability insurance that is required to cover your employees while they are on your premises.

Small business owners have other choices when it comes to having work completed for them and they do not all involve someone coming into your home to complete the work you need to have completed. Many small business owners will subcontract work out to other small businesses. Subcontracting is an excellent approach as long as you take the time to define the product you want delivered, the quality of the product, the price of the product and the delivery date. Get these four items right, hire an excellent subcontractor who delivers quality work, on time and provides support for follow-up and you generally will have a very successful relationship.

In addition to the above benefits of using subcontractors, there are other valuable advantages. Subcontractors can be hired only when you need them, there is no need for dealing with pension plans, un-employment, health coverage and other assorted deductions. You pay for what you get and they deal with any of these issues separately. In addition there is no need for liability coverage, since these people are not on your payroll and they generally do not work at your home.

Online business entrepreneurs are particularly suited for work on a subcontracting basis. These subcontractors can be virtually anywhere in the world and are able to send you your material by email or in the case of large files using FTP transfer methods. Many people have started online home businesses and deal with sub contractors all over the continent. Keep excellent records and always ensure that there are clear guidelines associated with your subcontracted work to avoid any misunderstanding between you and your subcontractor.

Authors: Do You Have A Web Site To Promote Your Book?

I was browsing online the other day and discovered the news about a first time novelist who had recently published a book telling the story of an African tribe suffering the loss of land and identity. Her story is based on her true-life experiences and research. She's even donating a portion of the book's profits to a charity that helps the displaced people. Her whole story sounded intriguing. However, when I looked for her web site—I couldn't find it.

What a shame, I thought.

While her book is featured on Amazon.com and other online bookseller sites, and there's a couple of press releases announcing her book signings, there is no obvious web presence for this wonderful book and its author. My immediate thought was that she was leaving book awareness and sales on the table.

Maybe she feels she doesn't need a web site because she has the charity and her publisher assisting with publicity, or because there is some expressed interest in movie rights. Even so, I feel that a simple web site featuring her telling her story of how she researched and wrote her book, with photos of her on location, would do wonders for her novel.

In today's fast-paced world, where attention spans can last a nanosecond, an author can't afford NOT to have a web site. Even if people aren't lining up to buy your book today, they can visit your web site and browse. If they like your site, there's a good chance they'll be back in the future, or tell friends about it. I think this point is especially true for us first-time novelists. In my opinion, a fiction novel is the hardest type of book to promote and sell online or offline. There are literally thousands of fiction novels published each year, due to how easy it is to get a POD published book on the market.

Authors have tons of competition to get noticed. While the amount of readers are declining, the amount of books being published is going up. New authors have to compete with each other, as well as, established authors, movies, TV, blogs, video games, and other entertainment offerings. From a reader's perspective, why should they read your book over someone else's?

Your web site gives you a fighting chance to capture someone's attention and introduce them to you and your brand of storytelling. Plus, you have the creative freedom to make your site look however you wish. It's all about colors, graphics and words—especially words.

HELLO WORLD, I'M HERE!

CHECK OUT THIS GREAT BOOK!

HERE'S A SAMPLE OF MY STORYTELLING!

Because most authors have to do their own promotion, your web site is your own personal promotion booth sitting amidst a vast sea of similar booths inside a virtual flea market. Remember, people are online 24-7 looking up information on all sorts of things.

While you're sleeping, someone could be visiting your web site.

While you're out shopping, someone could be visiting your web site.

While you're busy at work, someone could be visiting your web site.

Of course, if you don't have a web site promoting your book, then potential readers will just have to wait until they stumble across your book while reading about your book signing somewhere, or maybe browsing the online bookstores, or maybe hearing about your book from a friend of a friend . . . you get the idea.

Why leave it up to chance?

Web sites are easy to get up and running these days, so there's no excuse not to have at least a page featuring your book. Believe me, people will be looking for it, and if you don't have a web presence, they'll move on to the next author that does.

Oh stop blushing. We're not asking you to run through the streets in your birthday suit or attend a business meeting sans clothes. But we all have times when we want to look our best in the buff. While some of us are blessed with blemish-free, wrinkle-free and jiggle-free skin, the reality is nobody is absolutely perfect. So, we need products. Thankfully there are lots of them out there, although not all are created equally. Here's a roundup of quality cosmetics, lotions and potions to get your skin and body in tip-top shape for when the lights go out-or stay on.

Sex appeal has a lot to do with sense of smell and touch. Start things off right with sexy skin. You'll feel as sweet as sugar (and possible taste as good, too) with the Age Defying Body Buff($14.95) from Zia Natural Skincare. Spread the honey and brown sugar scrub over your skin, leaving your body tastily smooth.

Most of us have indulged in too much sun at one point in our lives. While we'd like to consider it a lesson learned, we may have some sun damage on our "decollete" to remind us of our past sun-worshiping sins. The Sea Tonic Bust Gel ($49.50) by Phytomer soothes and tones the skin of the decollete, instantly firming and contouring the bust. What's more, iridescent bubbles create an enticing shimmer, perfect for candlelight.

Get a flawless complexion without worrying about a meltdown. Amazing Base($42), the all-in-one foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen by Jane Iredale provides unsurpassed coverage and staying power and actually helps improve the skin with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, which act as anti-inflammatories.

The French have such polite names for body parts. Whip your derriere in shape with Victoria's Secret's Cellulite Rx Lipotherm Contouring Cream ($96). The powerful agents in this firming cream smooths and actively slims the skin, leaving your delicate derriere smoother and sensually contoured.

Make your skin irresistible to touch with the Hydra System Rich Delicate Body Cream($146.50) from Vie. Drape your skin with this silky velvet cream and you'll never spend another night alone. Not to be overlooked, your hair should send the right message. Go for the tousled bedhead with ISO Nexture($20.99). With one treatment you'll have soft, sexy waves that can last up to 20 shampoos.
