How A Desperate Hottie Turned Her Job Seeking Skills Around!

Description:

You'd think employer would be stumbling all over themselves to get her as part of the team. But being a hottie is no substitue for good job seeking skills!

Content:

Cassie (not her real name) desperately needed a new set of job seeking skills. Oh, she was a hottie alright. And she kinda banked on that getting her a job. But her job seeking skills were in total disarray.

Cassie was not only very good looking, but she was charming and articulate, as well. What's more, she had a good employment track record. You'd think employer would be stumbling all over themselves to get her as part of the team.

Cassie was terribly distressed because she had been answering ads with no meaningful job search results. She knew that if she could just get in front of a decision-maker she'd have no trouble presenting herself in a professional but compelling way. She wasn't lacking in self confidence.

At thirty-two, Cassie wanted a change from her civil service position as Assistant Superintendent in an East Coast correctional facility. She worried because her background would be a drawback in the private sector. She was right.

But she figured if she sent out enough resumes as part of her job search someone was sure to find value in her background. A year and some 150 resumes later, followed by 17 job site postings, Cassie was totally discouraged.

Oh, she had a few nibbles -- a couple commission sales jobs, an Amway distributorship, and a call from a security alarm company -- "opportunities" distinctly beneath her expectations and salary requirements.

Cassie's problem is a common one. Getting locked into a single career ladder without any awareness of the dynamics of the job marketplace makes for a very tough job search. Unless . . . you have a fresh alternative way to think of your career and a way of packaging and presenting your skills that can get an employer's heart started.

You, or Cassie, have to take the initiative to make an employer pay attention to you. You have to be a salesperson for yourself. A prospective employer must see you in a way that's going to make bottom-line sense.

So, it's not what Cassie did for the State that was the backbone of her job seeking skills. It's how well she could be perceived as making a contribution to your next employer that would make the difference.

Her new job seeking skills meant that she had to translate her experience with the State into language a business employer will understand. She had to learn how to show him/her that it's profitable to bring her on board.

In short, Cassie a new way of developing and implementing her job seeking skills. Using old-fashioned methods weren't going to work for her. The techniques and strategies of a non-traditional approach were her best shot at getting quick results. Being a hottie just isn't enough these days!

Top 5 Follow-up Strategies When Interviewing Salespeople

Description:

If you’re hiring salespeople, you know that how you interview them is crucial. If you’re like most interviewers, your major concern is what questions to ask. But after you’ve asked a great question, how do you follow-up?

If you’re hiring salespeople, you know that how you interview them is crucial. If you’re like most interviewers, your major concern is what questions to ask. But after you’ve asked a great question, how do you follow-up?

Increasingly, in today’s world, more and more importance is being placed on asking the applicant to give specific examples, and this is certainly a classic and extremely effective method of following up.

But there are other aspects of following up that are often overlooked. Here are 5 additional follow-up strategies that you can utilize instantly in your interview approach and that will multiply the amount of information you can obtain from the applicant:

1. Questions to elicit more specific answers – These are the typical questions journalists might ask: Who? What? How? When? Where? Why? How much? How many? And, of course, “Can you give me an example?”

2. Questions that focus on what has not been answered – For example, if you ask about the applicant’s work history and they do not mention a gap of two years in their résumé, you can ask about that gap.

3. Non-specific questions or statements designed to get the applicant to expand on their answers – My two favorites are: “Tell me more about that” and “What do you mean?” Sometimes, simply commenting on an applicant’s response can have the same effect (“Really?” or “That’s interesting”).

4. Reflections – One classic interview method is to “reflect,” mirror back, or summarize what the applicant is saying or implying. This communicates either that you want to make sure you understand him or her clearly, or that you have a question about what they have said. For example, if the applicant says, “I’m great at sales closing,” you could respond (with a slight questioning in your voice), “You feel you’re really great in sales closing?”

5. Observations – Often you can make an observation or provide information that invites or almost requires an applicant to respond. For example, “Well, you know, in this job, more than 70 percent of your time would be on the phone making cold calls, and it’s not easy to do.” Then wait for a response.

If you add these follow-up methods to how you already interview, you will find that you will obtain more information and more valuable information that can help you make the best hiring decision.

Buying Wholesale Watches

Now that you are set up with a wholesaler your work is far from done. Even though you have the ability to place orders, the next thing that you will have to decide on is what you actually want to keep in stock. In other words, what types of watches will you keep in your inventory, or sell at your store? There are many options to choose from, and in order to get the best ones you will definitely have to do a bit of work. But do not let this get you down. The fact of the matter is that business should be fun. You should take great pride in what you order, and then move forward to make sure that you offer a great product.

When it comes to what you should order there are a few things to keep in mind. They are listed below. If you can follow these tips you will be well on your way to stocking a great inventory.

1. What is hot in the industry? If you want to make money in the watch industry you need to pick and choose what you sell. After all, only a select few people can sell a large number of watches and get away with it. You will be much better off starting out with a niche, and looking into what is hot and what is not. By selling the most popular products you will be putting yourself in the best position to succeed from the start.

2. Choose your niche carefully. There are many areas that you can specialize in. For instance, how about selling formal watches? Or on the other hand you could just sell casual watches. The choice is up to you. The thing to remember is that when you have a specialty you will be in a better position to corner your sector of the market. In addition, when you have your own niche you will also cut down on the amount of overall competition.

3. Order the watches that sell the best, but also make you the most money in the long run. After all, you are starting your business to make money, right? In order to ensure this you should look at which offerings can make you the biggest profit. Less inventory and higher profits is what you should be after. When you can master this technique your business will really start to take off.

There is not way of being 100 percent sure about which watches you should order. The fact of the matter is that there will always be a certain level of guess work involved. But if you follow the three tips above you can give yourself the best chance for success.

5 Steps to Sales Success

Description:

Sales is a demanding field, whatever your niche. With the constant threat of rejection, quotas, competition - it can all be a little overwhelming unless you have a positive mindset and certain firm rules to adhere to.

Content:

Sales is a demanding field, whatever your niche. With the constant threat of rejection, quotas, competition - it can all be a little overwhelming unless you have a positive mindset and certain firm rules to adhere to.

While there are countless coaching programs, books, training videos and empowerment seminars geared towards setting you up for a successful career in sales, experts tend to agree on a number of points:

Do work on staying positive. Find a method of maintaining a healthy attitude that works for you and stick with it. Choose to view each "failure" as a learning experience, and move on.

Be creative. To remain competitive in sales you need to constantly look for new ways to win customers, make more effective presentations, and remain aware of the competition. Be willing to try new ideas, but have tried and proven ones to fall back on.

Foster good relationships with your customers or clients, and request testimonials from those who have demonstrated their satisfaction with you over the long term. These customers are a valuable asset to your ongoing success and can be integral to attracting new business. Never underestimate the value of a thank you note or other expression of gratitude to loyal customers.

Be organized. It is essential that you learn to divide your time up wisely in order to cover all the basics of your business, including attracting new clients, maintaining relationships with existing ones, staying on top of developments in your field, and so on. Learn to assess how much time is required for each activity, and attempt to devote time to each when you will not be distracted by other concerns.

Conduct yourself with integrity, and resist the need to be overly aggressive. Remember, a crucial aspect of any sales endeavor is customer service. Learn to listen to your customers' needs, and learn to present yourself and your products or services in terms of how you can meet those needs. You are in the business of providing solutions; if you can't readily offer solutions, perhaps you can assist in finding ones that work. Be committed to providing excellent customer service and be rewarded with customer loyalty.

On the other hand, learn to evaluate what projects or prospective clients are worth the time invested. How likely are they to accept your business, and how much business is likely to result? Trust your instincts, and learn as you go.

Any sales technique is only as good as your comfort level with it. Find what works for you, and personalize your approach to selling in a way that feels natural. Clients appreciate honesty, and trust is an essential component of any relationship. Make your core values the center of both your personal and professional life, maintain clear goals, and enjoy the success that comes with each honest day's work.

Why Techies Who Don't Believe in ESP Make More Money

Description:

Learn to communicate with people on their level . . . you understand that must do that for computers, and people are no different, just much more complicated and emotional

Content:

I used to work for a psychic hotline and techies did call me, believe it or not.

Most techies don't call psychic hotlines, but it's obvious they still believe in ESP. They believe that the non-techies learn technical knowledge just by contacting a techie, even though the techie does not actually explain anything.

The techie thinks they just have to mumble something, and the non-techie of course understands it.

Because the techie themself understands what they mean to say.

What is that but a practicing belief (an unconscious assumption) in thought transferance?

That must explain why so many techies do not feel they have to explain technical problems and solutions to non-techies using mere spoken or written words.

It's as though you went to a doctor and after they checked you over, they mumbled some Latin and then expected you to understand that meant you had a viral infection, and what you should do about it.

It will greatly help your career if you do actually learn how to speak and write clearly -- in a way that the rest of us who don't have Computer Science degrees or MCSE certifications will understand.

I realize that we can be frustrating. Computers have gotten so cheap that some PC owners can barely read and write. They think they bought a magic box. Other users could pass the A+ exam themselves.

That makes it necessary for you to actually listen to the other person, gauge their level of understanding and word your questions and answers to their level.

If you don't nail it right away, you must decide whether you failed to fully communicate because you skipped over details you know so well you take them for granted and forget that that others don't know them, or you failed to get to the point.

That is, you use your increasing understanding of their level of thinking to modify the words you use to ask questions of them and then solve their problem.

I understand it's frustrating. But you know that if you want to query a database for some information, you must use the proper SQL commands in the proper format -- or you don't get an answer. If you want to add data to a database, there are standardized fields you must use -- or it won't accept the new records.

People are the same, just infinitely more complicated.

You want to learn something from them, ask in a way they will respond to. You want to tell them something, do it in a format they comprehend and respond to.

A Profitable Strategy-Keep a Business Journal

Description:

So why should you keep a journal? Journal writing is the most proactive activity you can do to start, build and run a successful business. The main reason I keep a journal is to be very clear about what I've done and where I want to go.

Content:

You heard it right, keeping a business journal can be a profitable strategy for your business success. You're probably thinking, "Right, I'm not going to keep a diary about my business day and anyway I hate writing!"

You probably are so busy that keeping a journal is the last thing you want to do. I know there's a million and one excuses and I was right there with you at one time. That is until I committed to daily journal writing.

So why should you keep a journal?

Journal writing is the most proactive activity you can do to start, build and run a successful business. The main reason to keep a journal is to be very clear about what you've done and where you want to go. Keeping a journal will allow you to keep track of your progress. It helps you to see where you were, where you want to go and what you must do to keep progressing in you business.

Writing in your journal is having an honest discussion with yourself. There are always so many thoughts racing through our minds. When you write down your frustrations, challenges, thoughts, and inspirations, it clears your mind of negative feelings. This can relieve your anxieties and doubts, so you can maintain your focus. This is the perspective you need to progress with your business. In addition, it makes your thoughts and ideas real and tangible, so you won't forget them.

Do you ever have a great idea or solution to a problem? If you don't write it down, it's hard to act on it or worse you'll forget the details.

The time you spend writing in your business journal will actually save you time. This is something that you have to do and see for yourself.

The daily entries will help you realize where you've been. By having a record of your success and failures you'll have the ability to know what works and what doesn't work. Having these entries help you to keep doing what is working and drop what doesn't work.

Start keeping a journal everyday. Write in it first thing in the morning, so you are very clear about what you want to accomplish for the day. Write in it after you are done working, so you can record your problems, challenges, frustrations as well as your successes.

This one practice will keep you very focused and clear in your business.

One key requirement to making this work is to be honest with yourself. You need to be completely honest about what you write. This is for you and the success of your business. If you just read emails and the latest weather report for your upcoming trip, write it down. If you had a list of things to do and you did something else, write it down.

What I'm trying to get at here is write down exactly what went on that day. This will be your record of accountability. I'm sure you want to have a successful business, right? This is your way of actually seeing what your doing or maybe not doing. Then you can say, "Hey I need to get my act together and get back on track to realize my dreams!"

Also if you are getting a lot done, you can have confidence in knowing you're on the right track. Having it written down also gives you the ability to remember your successes. Celebrate and feel good about that.

This is an opportunity to get down on paper your thoughts about a problem you just can't seem to figure out. It's also used to find an answer to a problem or challenge that came to you in those many moments of inspiration. Better yet, when you're confused about an aspect of your business or you life, write it down. When you get it all out on paper, you gain power to do something about it. Writing out the challenge or problem with all the anxiety, frustrations and barriers starts the process.

You can then write out all the possible solutions and thoughts about your problem. You can get it all out of your mind and become very clear about your challenge. This process activates your mind and thinking process to start looking for a solution to the problem. Well almost every time you do this, the ideas and solutions will start flowing.

You can also write about, what motivates you today? How are you feeling? What you are looking forward to? What are you dreading? Make your journal a window into your life. A real look at you, your business, and what you are trying to create.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Those that fail to remember their past are doomed to repeat it?" Well your business journal becomes the history of your business. When you have it written down, you can look back often to see what you did when you faced a challenge or how you felt when something happened. It is a written snapshot of your successes and failures.

So when you decide to start a business journal or rather a success journal, here are some tips to make your journal writing time effective.

1-Figure out what you are going to have on hand to write in your journal. Some examples are a 3-ring binder, hardbound journal or on your computer. Whatever it is, make sure you can relax and really be in a place where you can think and write.

2-Create daily entries- At the end of each day ponder your thoughts and feelings about how your business is going and where you would like to go. Write these in your business journal. Make sure you do this everyday for at least 21 days without missing and you will form you're journal writing habit.

3-Review regularly- Your business journal is there to help you work through your thoughts and see your progress. So make sure that you review your entries regularly.

One final thought. You might think that this is tons of work and it will take too much time from your business. I thought this way to. But as you do this, you'll find that daily journal writing will save you time and money. It will keeps you focused, clear and motivated. I've found it to be one of the keys to my continued success and I know if you will start, it will be for you too.

First things first, choose a niche topic or market, in my case it was ‘Self Help'. It is vital that you try to remain unique and focus your site on one single topic. Make certain that you do not get carried away and begin adding non-relevant content to your site.

When it comes to choosing a topic, it requires two important steps. Firstly, choose a topic that you are interested in so that you are motivated to build the site. Secondly, choose the topic keywords based on words that are searched for regularly online. Now, in order to get a rough indication of how many people are actually searching for the keywords I wanted to optimize my site for, I used the Overture search suggestion tool. It's not exact, and doesn't measure Google searches, but it does give a very good estimate.

Now it is time to start building the site! I was lucky that my brother is one of the developers of an Online Content Management system called ArticleLive. It's created by Interspire and is so easy to use. I pretty much had an Instant Web Site that gave a feel and look of great quality. I was able to build and manage my own content site from scratch - and this was back when I had absolutely no technical experience!

One of the most vital factors in order to have a successful article site is differentiating your site from the rest and provoking visitors to always come back. How to do this is basic. Simply make sure that all you provide is quality information. And that was exactly what I did and still do.

There are literally millions of articles for me to upload onto my site from other article websites and from authors submitting their articles to me. Note that you are allowed to copy articles off other websites, so long as you keep the original author's bio intact.

It is indeed tempting to quickly upload and add as many articles as you can to grow your site quickly and increase traffic. However, this will only be beneficial in the short term. For the long term, you wish for your visitors to come back to your site over and also continually attract new visitors. Quality articles will help make this happen. I made sure that every single article on my website was proof read at least once as well as be interesting and helpful. All articles trying to sell or advertise a service or product were not accepted. Articles with links in the body were also not accepted. Although this process does take more time and effort, the return on your investment can be huge.

One great form of promoting your article site is to do what I am doing right now. Write an article that relates to the topic of your article site - with your bio and link intact - and submit it to well known article sites around the web. This way your link is displayed all over the web, which as a result will help build your Google Page Rank (if you are unfamiliar with the term ‘Page Rank' I highly suggest you begin researching and understanding the importance of it). In addition to this, your article can be read by millions of people all over the world who are highly likely to click on your link and visit your site, just like you are going to do after reading this article :)

There are off course other important factors that affect an article site such as:

• SEO - Search Engine Optimization
• Google Page Rank
• Customer / Visitor feedback and friendly support
• Website look and feel
• ROI - Return on Investment techniques

However, these factors would require an article all to themselves!

Nevertheless, I can not stress enough the importance of quality. Out of every factor mentioned, quality is the one thing that will guarantee your website success in the long run. An article site that offers free and high quality articles is surely guaranteed to attract new visits and sustain loyal visitors. By simply going through the easy steps I went through before, you could easily have one of the best article sites for your choice of topic.

Remember, quality content results in a quality website.

Interthreat? The Agents' Role In An Internet-Based Market

Description:

The agents who are making the most money are the ones who are really good at communicating and exerting their value. If you're not communicating your value in your listing presentations and other marketing tools, you're leaving your potential - and a lot of money - on the table.

Content:

Here's a question for you – a fundamental question at the very essence of why you exist as a real estate agent:

What is your value to buyers and sellers?

Your answer is the only – and I do mean only – reason you will either succeed or fail in real estate today. With or without the Internet. With or without a cell phone that snaps pictures. With or without a blackberry.

All of these technology tools mean absolutely nothing without a first-class answer to that question. Remember when the Internet took the stage in the mid-90s? Soothsayers predicted agents wouldn't survive. Well, here we are a dozen years later, and now even more agents are making a fine living in the industry.

Why?

Because you bring value. One of the great truths of our free enterprise system is that we get rewarded when we add value in delivering wants and needs.

Remember this: The brokers and agents who are making the most money are the ones who are really good at communicating and exerting their value – communicating with zeal and clarity. If you're not communicating your value in your listing presentations and other marketing tools, you're leaving your potential – and a lot of money – on the table.

And the agents just barely getting by – well, they don't understand their value, and if they don't understand it, they certainly can't communicate it. On the surface, the soothsayers appeared to have a decent argument. Yes, the Internet has put much more information into consumers' hands. We should see that, accept it and realize the Internet is not going away. In fact, I'm sure it will continue to grow and become even more relevant.

But with that said, I plainly see brokers and agents still bringing hefty amounts of value to real estate deals. But if consumers have access to the same information as brokers and agents, what is the value?

Write these down, post on your bathroom mirror and read them every morning.

You bring: – Up-to-the minute information. Anyone who has ever surfed the web knows plenty of information out there is out of date. You are at the center of it all and know the very latest events in the market. – Detailed market knowledge. Consider the classes and the continuing education you've taken, and all the market specifics you've learned – not to mention you're track record and experience of actually selling homes. And don't forget all your contacts in your database. Plus, you have knowledge of your farm area—zoning ordinances, school standings, home price history, etc. Add it up and it comes to knowledge that saves your clients big bucks. – Negotiation skills. When buyers and sellers' intentions get serious, the only thing that closes the deal is competent negotiation. It's what you do. It's what you signed up for. And it's what you're good at. Selling real estate comes down to how well you overcome objections.

They all add up to professionalism. You're a pro. A business person. The CEO of your own company. And you bring value to real estate. Don't forget it.

The Internet is not a threat. In fact, it and other technologies are tools you can't afford to ignore. It all helps facilitate the transaction and you're at the helm, steering the ship. There's clear proof technology is on your side.

NAR has even found that agents who use the Internet make on average $22,000 more a year than those who don't. That's just one of many facts you should know about how real estate and the internet work together.

But just remember, at the root of it all is your value. Know it. Embrace it. And communicate it.

Different Keywords for Different Folks in Home Business Work Opportunities

Description:

The keywords that fetch the most traffic are also the costliest ones. So what do you do if you want to bid on one of these keywords? There are 2 options:

Content:

Whether its a home business or an internet business work opportunity you have to have traffic to your site to see a sale. We have all heard of auctions havent we? The highest bidder takes home the loot. In an auction, the bid price depends on the perceived value of the product on offer, the number of bidders present as well as the paying power of the bidders present. In a PPC campaign for Google Adwords also, the same rules apply. Its the law of supply and demand that ultimately governs it all. The keywords that fetch the most traffic are also the costliest ones. Keywords like "home business" and "internet home business" are costly because of the large number of searches being done on the same. So what do you do if you want to bid on one of these keywords? Well the answer is simple. There are 2 options:

1)Bid on them provided you have an army of staff working on it to see that you are not outbid and to take care of all the negative keywords that you will have to churn out in order to filter all the irrelevant search phrases being done of which they are a part. And they are going to be costlier too! And if you bid low on them, youre never going to be seen. (Or)
2)Bid on a larger number of mediocre or lower traffic keywords that cost far less but are more targeted by the way. Bid on nothing less than 200 or 300 keywords like that. The total traffic should add up to something substantial.

So how do you determine the traffic potential of these keywords? Well, you have many keyword analysis tools that can help you with this. Some of them are Keywords Analyzer, Adwords Analyzer, Wordtracker, etc. Feed in a generic term and these will give you related terms being searched for. Then you can go in for more advanced searches for each of them. This is very helpful. You have arrays of data on number of searches done the last month for each of those keywords, the number of results returned, the number of Google campaigns for each as also for the other major search engines, the Google bids(maximum bids) and so on. This is very useful information that will help you in narrowing down on the right keywords to promote your home business or internet business work opportunity.

Once identified, optimize your home business website to include these words. It would help to a great extent if you can try and get links to your site from other sites with these keywords in the anchor text. Get as many as possible like this. This should improve your ranking in Google if done right.

If after that, you now go ahead and run a Google adwords PPC campaign on these keywords with your ad title & ad body optimized for these words(including your H tags and title) you should start to see results and traffic to your site. Remember that Google adwords campaigns have to be improved over time through continuous trial and error. Start off with 2 or 3 ads for related keyword groups and then compare and contrast while Google rotates these ads for you. If you feel that a keyword is not suited for one ad, cut and paste it to the other one or delete it if its useless or write an entirely new relevant ad that accommodates it and continue testing. This is a surefire way to boost your click through rates (CTRs) to the sky. Ultimately you should end up with one ad that has all the right ingredients.

It takes time, but once you are through, its gonna make you money for ever. You can also expand to other search engines like Yahoo, Miva or Overture and multiply your returns. Well thats entirely up to you.

What Exactly Is Freelancing, Anyway?

Description:

Freelance work is the ideal work from home business opportunity. Find out the benefits of freelance employment and why you should consider it when deciding to work at home.

Content:

If you are looking for the ideal work from home opportunity then freelance work is definitely something you should consider. Freelance employment allows you the independence of working for yourself and choosing your own hours while providing a relatively easy way of getting freelance jobs.

Freelance work enables employees to advertise positions they need freelance workers for and then find the right person with the necessary skills to complete the task. As a freelance worker you are able to give a tender on these freelance jobs and if yours is the best tender for the position and you receive this freelance employment then you will be able to complete the work in the comfort of your own home and set your own hours for its completion.

Freelance employment enables you to use the skills you already have including writing, art work, graphics, computer or administrative skills from the comfort of your own home and get paid for it.

There are many freelance jobs boards on the internet today such as freelanceworkexchange.com, elance.com and guru.com that advertise a variety of positions that freelance workers are able to bid on and that provide plenty of work for anyone entering freelance employment.

The benefit of using these freelance jobs boards in finding freelance employment is that it largely decreases your need for marketing. Marketing on the internet can be one of the most difficult aspects of running an online business whereas if you are able to go to a specific website and just tender, then all you need to know is how to sell yourself and provide good examples of your work.

Freelance employment is also much easier for people who want to work from home but do not have many computer skills to start up their own business online. The only real computer skills necessary in most cases is the ability to browse the internet, send emails and type. You will browse the freelance jobs boards for positions available, either send a message via the board or via email to tender for the position and then will probably need to type your work in (or if you are doing art perhaps use a graphics program or scan your artwork) to send to the person you are doing the work for.

Once you have found freelance employment you will need to agree on a freelance contract. This needn't be very fancy but should include the amount you will charge for the project, the time it will take you to deliver and your payment terms. If it is a long term project you may also want to set some milestones to chart your progress.

Freelance work therefore involves searching freelance jobs boards for positions that you have the skills to fulfill, sending in a tender to do the work and if you are chosen for the position you will set your own hours and work from the comfort of your own home to complete the freelance work. You will also need to draw up a freelance contract with the person who offers you the position including your charge for the work, how long it will take you to complete and your payment terms. If you are looking at working from home this is definitely something you need to consider.

The Pro-active Career: Better Get With The 21st Century Program!

Description:

Unless you become pro-active and self-reliant in your career you could be dead in the water.

Content:

It's no secret that career job search times have changed. Especially in the 21st Century marketplace.

Just take a look at the dramatic changes that have occurred in the last few years:

1. Changing jobs every three years is no longer frowned upon.

2. Lifetime employment went out with the dinosaurs.

3. Corporate loyalty to workers in terms of job guarantees is dead.

4. Employees are now totally responsible for their own careers.

It was largely the corporations that ended the traditional employment contract in the late 80's and early 90's. Since the notion of "loyalty in exchange for lifetime employment" no longer made bottom line sense to many organizations, hundreds of thousands of workers lost their jobs.

So, the new 21st Century program is this:

Unless you become pro-active and self-reliant in your career you could be dead in the water.

Because of the changes listed above, employers have changed too. Their expectations of job candidates has evolved as well.

For example, if you're not prepared to demonstrate specifically how you can make a bottom-line contribution to the organization . . . you're out!

Or if you're unable to respond to tough questions about your background like a pro, you just lost out to someone who can.

Or if you're counting on your resume to sell you to a prospective employer, you go to the end of the line! Because today's savvy job seeker knows that resumes to make hiring decisions . . . people do. And being able to assertively represent yourself in a face-to-face meeting is the only way to land a high-paying job.

That's why you need 21st Century tools and techniques . . . the kind that help you identify precisely who you should be talking to. And then shows you step-by-step how to convert that encounter into a job offer.

Times have changed. Have you changed with them?

Infopreneurship

Description:

Gone were the days where there existed an industry era peacefully before technology started exploding into the scene in exponential forms. Today we are living right in the heart of the information era and what more relevance could it be other than infopreneurship. Information is the underlying vitality in today's success to both an individual and a company. So if you feel the need to share loads of information, be it for profitable or non-profitable reasons, dive right into the limitless...

Content:

The exciting term, infopreneur, is becoming a hit among today's entrepreneurs who want to capitilise on the sea of opportunities available on the internet. An infopreneur, apparently combined from the two words "information" and "entrepreneur", refers to an entrepreneur who makes money by selling/sharing information on the web.

Infopreneurs fall into two categories. One is where infopreneurs sell information which are created on their own. The other kind is whereby infopreneurs piggyback off information from certain sources, modify as their own and sell them. The selling part might not exactly refer to selling information to readers directly all the time. Instead, sometimes information will be made free to be read by anyone. In this case, revenues are earned through advertistments which are relevant to the information. Infopreneurship serves as an important purpose to the public especially when people are looking for information on a specific topic. Then again, the reliability of the source has to be checked for.

The selling part comes in when an infopreneur offers information products in a variety of formats including books, e-books, special reports, audio formats, videos, workbooks, booklets, and virtually any method in which one can deliver information. This method is practised by entrepreneurs cum infopreneurs and successful results are obtained.

The reason for successful infopreneurship, be it selling information or sharing information for free, is that it is a great way to market an individual's ideas, products or services. Information sharing is like presenting a business card. It opens up doors to new business opportunities. With more media exposure, it can easily increase popularity to one's business. An article published on an article submission site, gets republished several times to various websites which increases visitor traffic in the twinkle of an eye. Most infopreneurs have their own website which is a centre for their business. By publishing information on the net, they leave a link behind for interested readers to follow through and land up on the infopreneurs' sites. For an example, an infopreneur may have written on a specific topic such as "the best ingredients to use in cooking a Bombay styled mutton biryani". An interested reader who finds the information useful would then click on the link left by the author to visit his website where there would be more related information on that particular topic.

Gone were the days where there existed an industry era peacefully before technology started exploding into the scene in exponential forms. Today we are living right in the heart of the information era and what more relevance could it be other than infopreneurship. Information is the underlying vitality in today's success to both an individual and a company. So if you feel the need to share loads of information, be it for profitable or non-profitable reasons, dive right into the limitless stream of information superhighway aka internet today.

Varieties of Office Chairs

Description:

Chairs are available in various varieties and according to the designation and position of a person in an corporate organisation. In the article, we discuss the various types commonly used and available in the market.

Content:

An office chair is an integral part of a professional's life. A major part of the day of a working individual is spent on that chair. A chair is not just a piece of furniture, but also speaks volumes about the stature and authority of the individual occupying it. By looking at a person's chair, one can mostly make out whether the occupant is a lower, middle or a top level executive. Not only this, the chair, at times, can also be indicative of the nature of duties of the individual.

There are various kinds of office desks and chairs available in the market. In an office set up, one gets to view various kinds of chairs that adorn the place. Office chairs can also be classified on the basis of the material used in their manufacturing. The most popular varieties of chairs used in offices are:

1. Operator or Task chairs are used commonly by employees in middle or lower executive level. They are chairs with wheels (casters) and with the ability to swivel, hence making them the most popular chairs used in present day workplaces. Mostly, these chairs are not specific to a person's designation; hence, they may be used by different kinds of employees. The height of these chairs is adjustable to suit the convenience and comfort of the employee.

2. Executive Fabric office chairs are similar to Operator chairs but have better padding and a reclining back. These two features considerably increase the comfort level of the chair.

3. Though most chairs are equipped with a reclining back, special Reclining chairs are usually bigger in size, better padded, besides the reclining feature. Some are even designed with a foot rest for extra comfort.

4. Top level executives prefer an Executive office chair that has a longer back, bigger arm rests and usually of leather. They are heavily padded and provide tremendous comfort.

5. Visitor or Guest chairs usually do not have wheels as visitors are required to remain stationary. They are usually simple chairs and reasonably comfortable.

It is up to the organisation to decide what kinds of chairs are required and in what numbers. There are numerous styles, varieties, fabrics and price ranges to choose from when it comes to buying an office chair, but the foremost thing to be kept in mind is the employee's comfort.

People go online not just to be informed but also to interact with other people. Filling this need at your Web store will help you turn shoppers into customers and customers into repeat buyers.

Content:

Content can attract shoppers to your site. But to generate a continuous flow of repeat visitors, you need to provide access to an interactive community.

Community is just as important as content when planning an eCommerce site. If done right, community features on your site will increase the number of page-views per visit, giving you opportunities to offer merchandise to your shoppers.

Community features can be used to encourage customers to return to your site. Establishing a Learning Community can help shoppers develop expertise through the interaction with other shoppers who visit your site. Asking questions, discussing problems, raising issues, and the general camaraderie that develops in an interactive community breeds a kind of loyalty that is beneficial to the success of your Web store. And loyalty breeds repeat visits.

Communities can build your business. Think about it, the more times a shopper visits your site the more familiar they are with it. The more familiar they are the more comfortable they might get making a purchase from you instead of some unknown merchant. Communities are sticky. Visitors tend to spend longer periods of time at your site than before. The stickier they are the more loyal they get. Loyalty builds trust and trust is the currency of business.

The Best Things In A Home Business Are Free!

Description:

One of the biggest advantages for doing business on the internet is the low or no cost that is involved in starting and managing the business.

Content:

One of the biggest advantages for doing business on the internet is the low or no cost that is involved in starting and managing the business. Take the place where you do business which is the site, your online store. Most sites can be setup for free by a hosting company. You can either design it yourself or have someone design it for you, again for free.

Products for your business can be obtained for free from various affiliate programs. You do not have to pay for storage of the product because this is done for you by the affiliate. Once the prospect lands on the affiliate's page they will sell, pack, and ship the merchandise for you. Again, for free. And you are paid a commission on the sale just for leading the prospect to the affiliate's landing page through your promotions.

Now some promotions can also be free. For instance, you can write articles with links to your site, about the products, and have them published on hundreds of directories on the internet for free. The articles act as advertisement and through the links take the prospect to your site where you, in turn, through links or banners direct the prospect to the affiliate's landing page where the sale is made. You can also get the prospect to your page through links with other web pages or through your position in search engines. All again for free!

Another way that you can get free advertisement is by belonging to a forum where you can participate in discussions and develop relationships. Your name and site will be listed each time you make a contribution and if enough interest is developed in what you offered; bingo, you have another person following the link to your site.

You can also develop and place a free press release on the internet every time you add a new product or launch a new site. Blogs, Newsletters, and eBooks can also act as free advertisements. And because the internet is free, their distribution is free.

Let us not overlook the fact that in order to profit from all of the free stuff that is offered you need to do your homework. You will need to examine which hosting company offers the site designs that fit your style. Study which products you are going to be comfortable with representing and promoting. Determine how much knowledge and skills you will need to possess about the products so that you can develop interesting content to draw interest and develop a desire for the product.

You will need to develop a reputation for yourself as being an expert in the field before you will gain a following. This will take some time to establish. You need to be patient, persistent, and committed. Remember, "Rome was not built in a day" but it has lasted many a lifetime. And so can your home business. It is a great opportunity when you consider all of what can be done for free.

Close the Sale by Learning to be a Lady

Description:

When you learn to be a Lady, you become the best sales person ever.Want to learn the secrets? Here we go..

Fantastic news! we carried out an exercise this week and the results were phenomenal. We wanted to see if we could get the CEO of a large blue chip company to have lunch with us.

Knowing how busy these guys are and how almost impossible it is to get through to them. We decided to try out one of the principles in our eWorkshop.

Learning to be a Lady.

Women do it best when it comes to communicating with others effectively. Why?

Because they are more sensitive to the needs and feelings of people. Don't ask me why, I am not a doctor.

There is so much to learn from women, but if there is one thing you must never fail to learn, it is the ability to be sensitive to the needs, moods and feelings of other people.

How do you feel when someone shows you a caring heart or offers to help you without asking, knowing that at that very moment you need the help offered.

If every telesales person was sensitive to the needs of people, they will never call to sell a product, they would rather call to understand and establish a need based on the requirements of people. I can assure you, more sales will be made this way.

People are not robots, they cannot always be logical, people are not 1's and 0's, you cannot control or manipulate them, people are not animals, they cannot be forced and taught but they can learn willfully.

By being sensitive to the needs of others, people inevitably become sensitive to your needs.

How To Build A Residual Income

Description:

When most people think of residual income, what comes to mind is usually basic information that's not particularly interesting or beneficial. But there's a lot more to residual income than just the basics.

Content:

What is a residual income?

Residual income is a type of income that's lasting. It means you don't have to work all your life to earn money, with little effort; you can sit at the comfort of your own home and earn money.

The internet is one of the fastest growing markets for different kinds of businesses. Imagine you can target costumers from almost anywhere in the world. There are also a lot of payment options online. No matter what country you are from there is always an opportunity for you. Here are some ideas you can do to generate a good paying site.

1. Create ebooks. You can get more profits if you publish it yourself. However there are certain advantages if you let publishers market your book. Publishers know a lot of sites where they can place it because they have more experience. Ebooks are easy to download, you only have to create one and anyone can download it even when you're not there as long as they pay for it or as long as they're subscribed. Of course there are certain rules that you have to follow like getting ISBN number for your book.

2. Create downloadable learning tools like CD. If you are an expert on something and you would like to use your expertise to educate people then creating downloadable tools is just perfect for you. You can make a class wherein people learn through listening to your voice and you can charge them to pay for it. If customers like you, they will just keep coming back.

If you find yourself confused by what you've read to this point, don't despair. Everything should be crystal clear by the time you finish.

3. Create a blog that is supported by paid advertisements. Write anything that interests you. You can also link your blogs to other programs that offers site traffic. An example is the google adsense. It is very easy to set-up an account. It is available worldwide. They pay for every click on your blogs' ads. Payments vary according to the type of advertisements that shows on your ads. However there are certain keywords that can attract advertisers to bid for a place in your blog. Just always bear in mind that do not click your own ads because it is a violation. If they learn about it the adsense team will automatically terminate your account.

4. Participate in affiliate programs. Create a site that will help you campaign for your affiliates. You can visit different affiliate links and some of them don't require membership fees.

5. Make an online magazine. You can get people to subscribe, participate in the forums and submit articles for you. You can publish it monthly, quarterly, whichever you like.
