Why would you like to find "like minded" customers for your business? That's easy - it's because they are easier to please and easier to work with.

So how do you go find such customers?

That is actually easy too, but you have to learn to think "away from the box". One of the biggest mistakes a new marketer makes is to go on the Internet, see a few ads they like and copy them. Then they look at some copy they like from a few other websites, and they copy them.

When they put all of this together, they may be able to generate leads, but these leads may not be the type of customers you are looking for.

For example, if you just want customers that are only interested in an opportunity where they can make some quick money with no regard for their customers, all you have to do is market a website that has a flash movie or copy that is all about making money fast and easy. You make some claims like "No Selling" or over 90% automated. In other words you tell half the truth or downright lie about what is really required to be successful. You may be able to make money like this, but who have you just surrounded yourself with; a bunch of people that are only in it for the money and if they don't make any quick, it's your fault.

Let's say on the other hand you want clients for you home business team that are professionals, that can communicate well, and that know a business takes effort, and time to build. In other words, the kind of people that have staying power. Do you think you could take the same website you used before, the "grab the money" marketing piece, and simply advertise that where the right people hang out? The answer is no.

Your advertisement, and then sales letter/copy has to line up with who you are. So while you may get some ideas from reading other people's ads and website copy, in the end, your ad and your copy has to be you. Which means what? Which means that if you want to be selective about your customers, spend the time to develop your own sales copy and ads, and to learn to market these websites in such a way that the right kind of people see what you are all about, what your vision is. The people you don't want will stay away, as they won't resonate with your message, and the right people will ask for more information, because they do resonate with your message.

As a general strategy for internet network marketers I suggest that if you are new, use the company supplied marketing pieces to build your initial client base, and to create your story. Then I suggest you build your own custom marketing pieces, to attract targeted customers, the kind you want to surround yourself with.

Once you get your story out there, the Law of Attraction will take over and start to bring you more people that are a great fit for your enterprise.
So how do you create the story? Work hard for whatever time it takes to master success realizing that it will take time and resources. You are building a business, and like any business, you will be investing in marketing, and relationship building.

The real magic though happens once you start to develop your team. This is your defining moment. Will you simply be one of those people that signs people up in your company, and throws them into the "System", or will you actually spend a little extra effort helping them, solving your customers problems, helping them find their way.

Once you have created a story like that, you will become attractive to others. And you will have ever increasing results. Everyone talks about their opportunity, their products. The real leaders talk about how they themselves are going to "add value" to the experience of their clients, and then actually do it.

This is the story your potential clients want to hear, and when you tell it, in your custom marketing, you will attract the people that resonate with your story, and your style.

Silk is extruded by a domesticated silkworm known as Bombyx mori, which feeds solely on mulberry leaves. The traditional process of silk production requires the killing of hundreds of thousands of silk moths. The larvae are boiled alive, roasted or centrifuged. The female moths are slit open to check for diseases after they have laid the eggs for the next generation. Most consumers are not aware of the cruelty involved in the process of production. However, silk can also be made in a non-violent, eco-friendly and sustainable way.

Unlike the conventional method where the pupae are killed before reeling yarn from the cocoons, the adult moths are allowed to emerge alive from the cocoons and then the silk yarn is spun from the open ended or pierced cocoons found in the wild or from those used in breeding cycles. Silkworm rearing, both mulberry and non-mulberry, is a highly labor intensive cottage industry. Mulberry cultivation is indispensable to domesticated silkworm (Bombyx mori) rearing. Mulberry is a multiple tree. It produces a fine wood, branches can be used in basketry, and fruits are edible and can be used to make wine. Its leaves are fed to silkworm, besides being a good fodder for livestock.

Non-mulberry or wild silkworms include eri, tassar and muga. Eri silkworms are reared on castor oil plant leaves to produce a brick-red silk, popularly known as eri silk. Tasar silkworms feed on oak, Terminalia and several other host plants and produce tasar silk. Muga silkworms are found only in the state of Assam and feed on ‘som’ and ‘soalu’ producing an unusual lustrous golden-yellow, attractive and strong silk.

World's total production of raw silk was 56,500 tons in 1938 which has gone up by 36% during the last 53 years. By 2000 the total raw silk production was estimated at 85,000. Although production has been rising gradually, the share of silk in total for all textile fibers remains very low. The value of silk and silk products in international trade however is quite significant, silk being a high value item.
With the changing production pattern over time, China has emerged as world's largest producer and exporter of raw silk, accounting for 90% share of global exports. Principal destinations of Chinese raw silk during 1990 were the Western Europe (Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, and the UK), Japan, Hong Kong, India and the former USSR Infact; it was China that was the birth place of the production of raw silk and silk weaving. The fiber produced was so treasured that it became a measure of currency and reward. The imperial courts in China even established factories to weave silk fabrics for ceremonial use and for gifts to foreign powers. In 2005, China produced 69,000 metric tons of raw silk.
While, India stands second only to China in silk production 16,000 metric tons.
But, India has the unique distinction of being the only country in the world producing all the commercially known varieties of silk - mulberry, tassar (both tropical and temperate), eri, and muga. It ranks second to China as a mulberry silk producer and accounts for about 14% of world production of raw silk. It is also the second largest producer of tassar silk, again after China. It has the monopoly of world production of golden-yellow muga silk. India requires 120,000 metric tons of silk to meet the demand in world market and with better infrastructure facility; the sericulture industry can improve its productivity to 15 percent as against the current 9%.

You can exclude a portion of the interest that accrues on such bonds if you meet certain qualifiers. Those qualifiers include having paid education expenses in the year of redemption; are not married and filing separately, and if you meet the general base income restrictions.

Still another way to beat the taxman and save money on college education is to make investments in your child's name. Children under 14 face a much lower tax rate and even as their income grows it will likely be at a lower rate than yours. Just make sure that the investment is in your child's name and stay on their good side because ultimately that money is theirs.

The final way to meet your college education needs that works for some people is to hire your kids if you are self-employed. There are some restrictions but once again any monies you give your children should be plowed back into their own or the family college education fund

The prep chef is the lowest chef on the totem pole, doing all the grunt work before the Artiste de Culinaire strolls in and makes the cooking magic happen. A person could probably make a good career out of offering door-to-door slicing and dicing for every John or Jane cooking dinner at home in their neighborhood. What home cook hasn't realized at the crucial moment that nothing is worse than realizing you need to drain and chop the sun-dried tomatoes sitting in the unopened bottle on the counter or uncork a bottle of Pinot Grigio for a pan sauce while you are supposed to be stirring constantly.

Every time Emeril reaches under the counter and magically pulls out a bowl of minced onions or seasoned bread crumbs, a prep chef had a hand in it. Prep chefs never get their own TV show. There's no fun in watching somebody peel, chop, mince, mix, measure, slice, dice, and blend, then store the results in a Tupperware in the fridge. Of course it looks easy for Rachael Ray to whip a meal together in ten minutes. When she needs three quarters of a cup of grated Parmesan, a little bowl of it instantly appears at her fingertips, leaving out the serf behind the scenes who grated the Parmesan and measured it.

Duties

Meats and poultry: Have to be properly thawed, butchered, trimmed, and cut to whatever the recipe calls for. Marinating is also something a prep chef has to think about.

Fish and seafood: Must be scaled and deboned. Shrimp and other shellfish have to be peeled. Other slicing and marinating as the recipe calls for.

Veggies and fruits: May have to be washed, peeled, sliced, diced, grated, deseeded, chopped, or shredded. A salad is 100% prep work. Garnishes are often all prep work as well.

Doughs and mixes are always prepped. Blenders, juicers, and mixers are part of a prep chef's life as well. Anything that has to be done before the ingredients actually get added to the pot or pan, the prep chef lines it all up. The French phrase is "mise en place" and that's just what you'll practice as a prep chef.

Prep work also involves equipment. A pastry pan might need greasing or an oven might need preheating. The home cook doesn't think about this, but even stove pans should be preheated to a specific temperature before the action starts.

Tools of the trade

As much as possible you want to automate everything. There are blenders, mixers, juicers, slicing machines, graters, presses, and choppers.

For measuring there are cups, spoons, and scales. Hopefully you have enough of these, because reusing the same measuring device means you have to wash it and dry it after every use. Don't forget temperature and time are also something you measure, and so there are thermometers and timers!

Knives of every description and category, plus peelers, whips, spatulas, graters, crushers, skimmers, strainers, brushes, ballers, scrapers, tongs, cutting boards, shears, and bowls, bowls, bowls.

The Skills

The show's resident chefs may be picked by a challenger chef for a head-to-head competition to prepare three dishes featuring a key ingredient. The key ingredient is only announced at the beginning of the show after the challengers are "on their marks", and each chef, teamed with two assistant chefs, must race to complete the task in time for the panel of judges to taste their creations and declare a winner. All in sixty minutes!

This format of the show allows one to see prep work in action. While a fully stocked larder of just about every kind of food is on hand to complete dishes with, almost none of the prep work is done and each chef must take into account the preparation time for their meals before deciding what to make.

The action is an astounding circus of kitchen acrobatics. Unlike showman chefs working in themed restaurants, there is no time for flashy stunts for the sake of entertainment here. All the action here has a purpose, and the action proceeds at a feverish pace. Sometimes the chefs start off doing something with a really mysterious purpose, and the commentators will try to explain what they are doing. The show is always instructive to prep chefs to watch.

If at all possible, you should forgo the American version and catch the native Japanese version. While the dubbing in English has kind of a hilarious 1970's kung fu effect, the Japanese version is a much more cooking-focused show. While the American version cuts the camera to the commentators or celebrity guests on the show, the Japanese version almost never takes the camera off of the frenzied activity in the kitchen arena as long as the cooking is happening.

Setting A Schedule Part 3 - The Importance Of Discipline

There are quite a few areas of discipline that I want to talk about in this chapter. Some are good, some are bad, but all of them are essential for the success of your business.

The first one I want to talk about is the discipline of target setting. Firstly note that I said target setting not goal setting. With goals your brain interprets them as just that - goals which are nice to haves. With targets it interprets them as things it must do. That difference is important. Your brain and subconscious will work together to help you find ways of hitting the centre of the target, if you just show it where it should be shooting.

So what do I mean by the discipline of target setting. People tend to fall into two camps here and it depends which hat they prefer to wear the most. Those who really love the employee hat will generally over estimate the time it will take to complete their target tasks and short change their business. Those who prefer to wear the employers hat most will tend to be very aggressive when estimating the time needed to complete a target.

Either one of these are dangerous by themselves. If you think back to the previous article when we were discussing how you go about making a schedule we mentioned that you need to make sure that you have enough time in your schedule to complete the things that you need to do in your business in that week. If you have either of these two problems then you'll either underestimate the time needed and not see the results you were hoping for, and that can be depressing, or you'll completely overestimate the time, meaning that you'll end up killing time to make sure that it took that long. Either way you're short changing yourself and your business.

So what do I recommend ? It's actually fairly simple. Put on your employers hat and go through and look at the task aggressively. If everything goes perfect and you do a good job how quick could you realistically complete this task ? Then put on your employees hat and go through and identify all the possible problems that you'd highlight to your boss when arguing for more time. What you now have is a best and worst case scenario and you need to decide which one is more realistic or somewhere in between. What I generally do I is err towards the side of aggressiveness in target setting, but then include several "buffer" time slots in the week to help bring hose target tasks that are falling behind back up to speed. The result is a fairly balanced schedule that achieves a lot. You need to play around with this for a few weeks until you determine for yourself just how much time is needed for your buffer slots. As you get to know yourself more and more you can fine-tune your buffer slots accordingly.

The next thing I want to talk about is the discipline of sticking to your schedule once you've finalised it. Often what will happen, and everyone is guilty of it, is that you'll be working on your business, when your best friend will phone you up and invite you round for a game of cards, or a game of pool or something else that you find a lot of fun. At this point most people usually think "Oh what the heck, I can do this tomorrow". What you should be doing is thinking of your business time as if you were at a work place where you were getting paid for working. If you were at your J.O.B, you'd turn around and say "sounds great, but I'm actually at work at the moment, can we do it another time" and then reschedule it for a free time in your weekly schedule.

You see this is a key difference in mindset when working on your business. Literally imagine that you have a clock card reader when you walk into your office and once you're "clocked in" you're just an employee. Behave as if you had a boss and exactly as you would if you had a J.O.B. If you'd agreed with your boss at work to have a website finished today then you'd finish it today. Start to have that mindset and your business really will start to accelerate faster than you ever though possible - I promise you.

So lets talk about what to do when you do give into temptation. When you go through your schedule for the next week, you should actually "punish" yourself. I don't mean literally but give up one of your nice to haves such as watching a sports event on TV or something and use that time to "repay" the time you took from your business last week. This is important, as it will stop you from doing the same thing next week. You'll start to really prioritise if something is really important before stealing time from your business.

Now don't get me wrong, I do not want your business to become a slave driver for you. It should generate pleasure and rewards. I personally find nothing more rewarding than when I'm working on my business, creating value that I know will pay me back for years to come. Let me show you what motivates me. Every time I feel like putting things off until next week I just think back to a very powerful example that someone gave me once, and that is that delaying your business growth today can prove very, very costly in the future. Lets demonstrate this for just a moment. If your business is 100 people at the moment, and after people dropping out you manage 25% growth a year (I know its low but its just an example). For the sake of arguments lets say that each distributor generates $10 income for you each month.

If you start RIGHT NOW then in 20 years time your monthly income would be $86730. If you delayed though until just next month then your income would only be $85300 a month. That delay of one month costs you nearly $17500 a year in income. At 50% growth then the difference would be over $110K a year less. Still feel like missing your work session today ?

That is possibly the most expensive business mistake you could ever make and is one of the things that keeps me pushing so hard whenever I want to give up. I just look at it and say "is it worth $10K a month to you to not get this done today ?". All of a sudden most decisions seem very easy to make. Going round to a friends to play poker for example may be great fun, and is something you should definitely do on your time away from your business, but sacrificing business work hours for it could make it the most expensive game of poker you've ever played in your life.

So what I'm basically trying to say is that you and you alone are responsible for business performance. If you do the things we've talked about then you stand a great chance of achieving everything that you've set out for yourself. If you give in to temptation and don't use the discipline techniques outlined above then you are literally depriving your business of thousands and thousands of dollars, not just now but in the long term. Dollars that you could use to either grow your business faster or allow you to live the dreams you want to.

When employers and managers typically think of rewarding their team (or employees) the first few ideas that typically come to mind are:

- Money in the form of pay rises or bonuses

- Incentives such as gifts

- Praise, recognition and compliments

When next discussing your staff rewards I challenge you not to stop at just those three ideas. As an example, a few years back my team and I at our real estate agency were able to work a little magic that had so many different benefits – one of them being a form of staff reward. We had three main departments: sales, property management and administration. Real estate is a tough industry and each of those three departments had their own challenges to face daily, however sales not only had the lows in the forms of challenges to overcome, but it also had the amazing highs. These highs were so obvious any time a happy client who had just bought or sold met their agent in our office after the sale had gone through.

Funnily enough, it was while looking for a new way to reward our clients that I accidentally stumbled across an innovative staff reward. I explained to my sales team that I had an idea to change the way we gave gifts to our clients after their sale or purchase had gone through. Rather than telling the sales team about the idea, I set up a demonstration and lead them downstairs as an elderly female client who had just sold her home was waiting in reception. I gathered not only the sales team, but also anyone from administration and property management who was in the office at that time and we all gathered behind our reception wall. I placed a gift basket and flowers with balloons in the hands of two sales people and we rang a gong. From there I asked everyone to head into reception clapping and cheering, as we did so our front office staff also stood up and cheered. Our client was greeted by a barrage of happy people celebrating her sale with joy (and a gift.) It was an experience she wouldn’t soon forget.

Our clients loved this sort of attention even if quite a few were very overwhelmed at first (yes, there were some tears of joy!) The prolific marketer in me also loved this idea as it meant that we got to take a photo of our happy client with their gift and real estate agent which we could use later on.

What I didn’t expect was that after that first experience I would have two of my administration staff come to me later that day to tell me how the experience had almost brought them to tears. They expressed that they loved being part of the “high” of selling a home that until they only the sales team had really experienced.

It wasn’t a reward that could be quantified as an increase in money or anything tangible for the people that participated in it. It was however able to increase their motivation and their understanding of why their job was such a vital one to these people. Most of our team got to participate in this experience 2 or 3 times a week and taking up about 5 minutes of their day at a time. In my opinion a dollar value can’t be placed on a reward like that to both the company and those who work there.

Nearly all the traits can be summed up in one word — professional.

Are you a professional?

Traits Buyers Like

Honest. Buyers want sellers to be honest with them. Give your prospects credit for being intelligent people who know that no product or service is without faults. Be forthcoming with those faults and at all other times.

More often than not, buyers will find out the truth — if they already haven't figured it out. Knowledgeable. Make it a goal to know your products and services — and how they address customer needs — far better than your potential buyers. You should know the industry which you serve better than any of your competitors.

Most companies do not train their salespeople enough to meet these objectives, so you must constantly take the initiative to learn these things on your own. Organized. For meetings with buyers, make sure you have a valid business reason and are properly prepared.

Whenever possible, provide a proposed agenda in writing to your buying counterparts. Do it several days before the meeting to allow them time for input/feedback. Punctual. Buyers expect sellers to be on time, even if they — the buyers — are not.

"My last appointment ran long" or "traffic was really bad" may be valid excuses on occasion, but there is no excuse for not letting the buyer know if you'll be more than a few minutes late. Solution-oriented. "Think outside the box," may be an overused phrase, but buyers want sellers who can provide creative ways to solve their problems.

Talk to your current customers to identify creative solutions they used in conjunction with your products or services that you can share with prospects. Prompt. Return calls and emails the same day whenever possible and always within 24 hours.

According to one expert, the current expected response time to an email is now four hours. Follow-through. Strive to always meet or exceed timeframes in which you've promised to provide information or other items to buyers. Exceed their expectations by providing the information more quickly than the promised timeframe. If you will not be able to meet the promised timeframe, let your buyers know as soon as possible.

Don't make the mistake of thinking buyers will forget about your promises — they won't. Empathetic. Buyers want salespeople who genuinely care about their personal and professional needs and goals.

The ability to identify buyers' personal wins is just as important, if not more important, than identifying business wins. Traits Buyers Don't Like

While it is critical to understand what traits buyers want to see in sellers, it is just as important to know what traits they don't enjoy. The list below shows what organizational buyers don't want sellers to be:

One word describes most of these traits — unprofessional.

Are you viewed as unprofessional by your buyers? In most situations, they surely won't tell you. What they will tell you is that your price was higher, the other company was a better "fit," or the other guys had a better solution.

Are those your problems, or are you unprofessional?

Unprepared. While you may like to think your buyers' worlds revolve around decisions involving your products and services, most times they do not. Unless they are in purchasing, buyers are paid to perform a specific task or function, not to meet with sales representatives.

Always prepare for your meeting. This includes the appropriate research, written agenda (when feasible), written questions, and goals and objectives for the meeting. In the first few minutes of the meeting, review this information, along with the expected results or payoff for the buyer. Uninformed. In many industries, the bar has been raised significantly on how much buyers know about your products and services. Before a sales call, meeting, or presentation, anticipate the questions you'll be asked — and have the answers and/or information at hand.

If you cannot confidently answer a question, say you don't know and give a specific process and timeframe for providing the answer. Aggressive. While aggressiveness may be touted by many sales experts and managers as a necessary trait for sales, buyers don't like overly aggressive sellers. In many situations, overly aggressive behavior can be construed as desperate, and buyers don't like to purchase from sellers who are desperate for business.

Buyers may also believe that aggressive sellers are not interested in their needs and care only about generating a commission. An interrupter. There still may be a few industries where it is appropriate to show up without an appointment, but most professional sellers generate new business by setting appointments. It's funny to read stories where a sales representative "won the business" because he just decided to "show up" and ask to see the CEO.

While a few of these stories may be true, there are many more untold stories where the CEO (or more likely an assistant) asked the sales rep to leave and never come back. A talker. This is another sales expert and manager favorite. "You've got to hire people who can tell a good story or joke and develop rapport with customers." That bus left long ago. Selling is much more about asking good questions and listening.

Many sellers have the 80/20 rule backward — they are talking 80% of the time and listening only 20%. Undependable. Buyers don't like to work with sellers who do not follow through and do what they have committed to doing.

If you're guilty of being undependable, figure out if you're over-promising or under-delivering — or both. Powerless. Buyers don't like to work with sellers who do not have the power or influence to make decisions on their own. If you consistently go to your superiors or to other departments for approval, buyers will quickly lose respect for you as a seller.

Professional sellers view themselves as the CEO for their relationships with buyers. They have the power to get things done for the benefit of their buyers. A deflector. This is a seller who deflects the blame for problems that arise to external forces. Buyers don't like sellers who won't accept responsibility for customer satisfaction.

Professional sellers are willing to be accountable to their buyers. To be a professional salesperson, conduct yourself as a professional. Your buyers will like it when you do - and you'll be more successful.
