If you've been turned down for a position you're particularly eager to win, and the employer hasn't yet filled the job, an aggressive second effort might possibly give you another shot at it. Asking for one more chance after you've been rejected is a bold strategy, but what do you have to lose?

Call the interviewer, thank him or her for the interview and say you'd be grateful for an objective appraisal of the meeting, and of you as a candidate. Say that if you're making mistakes in your job search, you don't want to repeat them. Encourage the interviewer to be frank, and be sure to take detailed notes of the response. If the interviewer is candid and open, you'll know exactly what perceptions you have to change to turn a loss into a win.

When you learn what the interviewer's concerns about you are, and it is a perception you can fix, ask for another interview:

"Thank you for being so straightforward. What you've told me will be very valuable to me. I guess I'm uneasy in interviews, and I made some mistakes. It's clear I did not make a very good case for myself. But I'm confident I have everything it takes to do a first-rate job for you. I'd like another chance to prove it to you. I'd like to introduce you to the real me. Will you give me the opportunity to come in and talk to you again?"

Sure, it's a long shot, but if the interviewer is impressed with your moxie and perseverance, you just may get the meeting you want. Armed with the knowledge of what got you rejected the first time, you have the opportunity to re-position yourself in a more appealing way this time around. In a sense, you get to learn all the right answers, and then take the test again.

Even the interviewer who rejects you, finally and past all hope, can still be a useful resource in your job-search campaign. Ask for a critique of your interview performance, and use what you learn to strengthen your approach. Enlist the interviewer in your job-lead network by asking for counsel, and for job leads. You'll find that even though an executive has turned you down for a job, he or she may nevertheless become a strong booster for you, and open doors to other opportunities.

Remember that your whole career never rides on one interview. Even if you don't get an offer, the meeting still has important value—training for the next interview. Learn from it, and move forward confidently.

Never worry that you're going to blow an interview. Walk through the door and play to win. The absolutely worst thing that can happen is that you don't get the job, and that's not a disaster. You didn't have the job offer when you came in, so you're no worse off than you were before.

There are more jobs, more interviews. You start with a clean slate in the next interview, at the next company. There's no time limit. You play till you win.

Article marketing is not just about knocking out a few articles and waiting for the cash to roll in. Like everything else it takes planning and commitment.

TIP: We all like spending money on the latest product but let's not continually fool ourselves that the next $97 we spend is definitely going to make us rich. It wont happen. In all honesty if you buy your domain name and make sure you have great hosting that's all you really need to spend at the outset.

There is some initial leg work to do such as finding your niche, choosing a domain name, setting up a website to build your list, choosing how you are going to monetize your site to name a few tasks.

TIP: Set up your website initially to give people some quality freebies. Let me just repeat the word quality. Don't use just any old junk anybody can get for free from other websites. Choose things that have been of real value to you in setting up your business. You can use these freebies to build your list as well.

For instance, I use one particular SEO book by an established expert that covers on-site and off-site optimization in sufficient detail without overwhelming you with too much detail or unnecessary jargon designed to impress rather than educate.

TIP: Forget, and I seriously mean forget, trying to monetize your site with Adsense or affiliate programs. Until you have your site set up and are receiving a nice flow of traffic nothing you will not make any money no matter how many E-Books and software packages you buy.

Like most people running an online business I am reading all the time to learn and also keep up to date with the latest happenings. As you read delete the junk and file the good.

So let's just recap. You have your website all set up, your list building forms/splash pages are in place and your auto responder is set up with a list of trust building information messages for your prospective clients.

I would not advise starting a forum. There are few people who can run these effectively. What normally happens is that everything works great starting out because there are few people to deal with and their questions can be answered promptly.

Once your list grows you will find that all you are doing is answering questions in the forum and woe betide you if you are a little late in getting back to people. Folk are generally impatient and selfish and it can create bad feeling. If you have like minded, trustworthy friends who can act as moderators this is definitely worth doing.

TIP: Use forums as a means of getting prospective clients to your site by participating in the discussions and displaying your bio box. This will also build you up as an authority on your subject. There are free ebooks around with niche forum lists.

The latest craze for joint ventures resulting in free PLR and other giveaways is taking over our lives. It is possible to be subscribed to dozens and dozens of differing lists. I subscribe to lists for good information but unfortunately most of these lists are just sending out continual, (sometimes 3 times a day), sales rubbish for products that you don't have a hope in hell of making any money with.

Once your website is set up and ready to receive visitors now is the time to start writing and submitting your articles. You will definitely have been bombarded with emails for PLR software and membership clubs promising you thousands of unique articles which takes no effort at all.

It's up to you but I have been a member of these clubs, I have tried the software, (in fact I am trying out the latest $150 package at the moment), and what I have found so far is if you are looking for quality content then it is just as quick and the content far superior to do it yourself.

The craze with having to have thousands of pages on your site is to do with Adsense. The search engines will get around to weeding out what information they want to present to their customers and I reckon the Adsense "mega sites" will shortly be a thing of the past, at least in their present form.

TIP: Don't become obsessed with being listed in Google and making money with Adsense. Google can take months to index your pages and Adsense is just one way of earning your living.

So why is article marketing being hailed as THE way to build your online business?

Consider this flow of events:

• An author submits their article to an article directory.
• The article is approved and published by the article directory.
• The article is now visible for everyone, (and the search engines), to see.
• The article can be used on websites or in publications as long as the authors resource box is left intact.

This can result in many thousands of article views and if the article is posted on other web sites it is now producing those all important one way anchor text links back to your site that Google loves so much.

Now this is where the commitment comes in. You must produce and submit articles as often as you can. Some people can write one a day others 1 a week, just do as many as you can as often as you can. Once you start you will very quickly see your articles being indexed on the Net.

WARNING: Be aware that if you are using software to produce thousands of pages, if you upload them all at once then the major search engines will pick up on this and penalize you. They are very smart and know it is not humanly possible to produce that many articles in that time frame.

TIP: Try using an Article Submission service. A good one is almost, but not quite, submit and forget. Note these article submission services are not all created equal and it can be trial and error to find a reliable and cost effective service unless you know someone who is already using one.

There is article submitting software available ranging from free to around $400. They all have to be set up initially so try the free or very low cost ones first to get a feel for what you are doing.

Manual article submission is possible but not very time efficient. It is total, mind numbing drudgery which needs automating as much as possible.

But Pyramid schemes, on the other hand, make nearly all of their profit on signing up new recruits. Therefore, the cost to become a distributor is usually high. Caution, Pyramid schemes often disguise entry fees as part of the price charged for required purchases of training, computer services, product inventory etc. These purchases may not even be expensive or required, but there will be considerable pressure to "take full advantage of the opportunity".

2) Will the company buy back unsold inventory? If you could be stuck with unsold inventory beware! Legitimate companies which require inventory purchases will usually buy back unsold products, if you decide to quit the business. Some state laws and the DSA Code of Ethics require buy-backs for at least 90% of your original cost.

3) Are the companies products sold to consumers? If the answer is no, or not many, Stay away! This is a key element. Multilevel marketing (like other methods of retailing) depends on selling to consumers and establish in a market. This requires quality products, competitively priced. Pyramid schemes,on the other hand, are not concerned with sales to end users of the product. Profits are made on volume sales to new recruits, who buy the products. Not because they are useful or attractively priced, but because they must buy them to participate. Inventory purchases should never be more than you can realistically expect to sell or use yourself.

Warning Signs of Fraud: Pressure to sign a contract quickly and agree to pay a large sum of money before sales claims can be investigated or legal advice obtained. Promises of extraordinarily high or guaranteed profits. And claims that profits can be achieved easily. A required initial fee which greatly exceeds the fair marked value of any products, kits or training. A large fee payable before you receives anything in return. Evasive answers by the salesperson or unwillingness to give disclosure documents required by law. These are only warning signs of the most obvious frauds. An independent investigation is necessary in any case. A fraudulent salesperson may be prepared with glib assurances and authentic-looking documents.Remember,if it`s worth your money,it`s worth you time to investigate.

How to protect yourself from a bad investment. Take your time, don`t let anyone rush you. A good opportunity to build a business in a multilevel structure will not disappear overnight.People who say`s "get in on the ground floor" are implying that people joining later will be left out in the cold. Beware. Ask questions, about a company and its officers. About the products- their costs,fair marked value, source of supply, and potential market in your area. Ask questions about the start-up fee (including required purchases). Ask questions about the companies guaranteed buy-back of required purchases and ask about the average earnings of active distributors. And finally don`t accept anything online that makes no sense in the real world.

We have all seen the adverts, or the websites telling us that fortunes can be made betting on your favourite sport! If, like me you have been fooled in to buying these so called ‘miracle systems’ then you will know the disappointment of reading over them to find that to make the money the systems claim is there for the taking would take enormous amounts of luck to say the least.

Some of the systems I have seen are the laughable multi team accumulator; you have probably seen them too. It will require you to bet on around 15 matches (all sure things!) and place a small amount to win £1000’s. People, of course have won the odd accumulator and the bookies (bookmaker) actually love that they have. Now that might seem like a silly statement, the bookies like people to win??? Surely not? Well look at it this way, if one person wins an accumulator bet and gets publicity about it, other people are then encouraged to try it, after all this person won so why can’t I? 999,999 times out of a million these people will lose their money and the bookie wins.

There are also new spates of systems that require you to place various bets during the course of a match depending on how the game is going. You may have purchased one of them, they go something like this… At the start of the game bet on team A to win, then when team A scores double your original bet and place this money on team B to draw, if team B then scores bet again on team A with 75% of the original bet and then if Team A scores again bet on Team B to win with 4 times the original bet. Confused? You will be.

These are just two examples of systems that you can buy online today that in, my opinion, will make you no money at all.

Another thing to consider is that around 90% of betting systems are scams, or are made up of old systems and rehashed, repackaged and sent out again. Be very wary of any system that guarantees you to win 100% of the time. Unless that system is arbitrage then it is not true and is a scam. Arbitrage (for those readers that don’t know) is the system of using different bookmakers odds on a sporting event to cover all outcomes without the possibility of losing. This doesn’t happen very often over a sporting year and there can be a very small window of opportunity to make money on each event as the bookmakers realise and change the odds. Large money can’t be made this way and you are betting of sticking with your 9 – 5 job!

If all sports betting systems worked there would be no bookmakers as they would all be out of money. Methods of presenting systems may be getting more sophisticated but the systems are the same.

A popular system you may of come across is basically keep doubling your bet until you win! People actually sell this as a ‘system’ it is common sense that if you keep doubling your bet to cover a previous losing bet you will eventually win and be back in the black. But what is not commonly thought of is that if you had 10 losses in a row and your first bet was only £1 or $1 you would be betting over £1000 or $1000 to try and get back to winning ways and if you were unlucky enough to get to 14 straight loses it would cost you over £8000 or $8000 to try and get back to winning ways. You can see that very quickly you could lose a lot more than your savings.

The general rules of betting which should never be ignored are very simple.

1. Never bet money you can’t afford to lose
2. Never chase a loss
3. There is no such thing as a sure thing

There are very few systems out there that encourage you to embrace these simple rules. If they don’t follow those rules don’t buy them and if you do buy them ask for your refund. Also be wary of systems that don’t offer a money back guarantee of at least 60 days. You must have a period to test the system if there is no chance of a test period, don’t buy the system. I encourage you to paper bet before betting with money. Paper betting is learning the system and writing down what bets you would of placed without actually placing money on them. This can be frustrating as you may miss potential wins but the testing period is essential to make sure the system works without costing you money.

Another sign of whether a system is worth what you are paying for it is simple, is there any statistical proof of winnings? Obviously very few people will tell you what games they bet on until you buy the system but once you have bought the system can you answer yes to this question? Does the system provide a recent list of bets placed and results that are fully checkable? If the answer is no then ask for your refund there and then. Systems that worked in 2003 or 1993 might not work in 2007.

Also check the rules for internet betting in your country, especially if you are in the USA after the recent change in the law there.

So, how are you approaching your prospects? Are you approaching them with the intent to dig deep and find the problems they are facing on a regular basis? Are you then showing them the benefits of your product or service and how it will provide them with real value and solve their problems?

If you love what you do, sales I mean, and you believe in the product or service you are selling, then you should do every thing you can to get your product or service in the hands of the people it will benefit the most.

Or are you there just to pass the time of day? Are you afraid to ask questions that will uncover their needs and then provide them with your product or service as the solution, and truly become a hero in their eyes?

Which sales person are you?

I can imagine if your in sales to make a living, you would surely want to fall in the first group. If you don't fall in the first group, there's no time like the present to make the switch.

Develop a real passion for the product or service you sell. Then seek out every person you can find who could benefit from what you're selling. Use the steps in the sales process, and use that passion to close the sale.

And if a prospect asks you if your trying to sell them something, respond and say, "Only if it will benefit you".

The Guaranteed Killer Approach to Trading for a Living

Regardless if you are trading stocks or shares, futures or options, indexes or Forex there are three main aspects that must be mastered to be a successful trader.

It is a common quoted statistic within the industry that in the region of 90-95% of traders/investors in the financial markets fail. Conceptually, trading looks to be an easy pursuit. With hindsight the price swings are easily identifiable and thus should be profitable and yet the above failure rate shows this is far from true. A bystander could reach the conclusion that this group of people must be gamblers of low intelligence, even stupid, considering that many within it will continue in this vain pursuit year after year, repeatedly following the same path.
Albert Einstein once said, "The definition of an idiot; someone who repeatedly does the same thing, but expects different results, not learning from the experience". Yet this group will persuade themselves that
it's all part of the education process,
- the next system/methodology will be different - it will work,
- I'm determined not to give up, I'm not a failure and will ultimately succeed,
- I was unlucky ...... the list could go on.
However, far from been of low intelligence or stupid, the profile of this group is in fact more often than not one of, well educated professionals, middle-class, successful business or career people of medium to high net worth. Typically, they are successful in other walks of life, particularly in their career or business and yet they fail to make a successful transition to a trading career. Furthermore, they spend vast sums of money on trader education typically accumulating a vast library of trading books and attend numerous expensive training courses and yet they still continually fail. With these apparent advantages why is it that they continue to fail (and on many occasions spectacularly so) over a prolonged period of time? The answer is that they attribute the failings to the wrong aspect of trading and incorrectly focus on resolving this. The 3 main aspects of trading are;
- the "Psychology" of trading,
- the "Methodology" or Systematic approach to entering/exiting trades,
- the "Money Management" of funds.
However, most people focus almost exclusively on the "methodology" (or system, often primarily using technical analysis) and give scant regard to the other two interrelated and more important elements. Consider a "system" that has a win/loss ratio of 50% and also a risk/reward ratio of 1:1. Such a hypothetical system is equivalent to "tossing-a-coin" and as such, ignoring transaction costs, would merely deliver breakeven returns and yet this is an inherently better performance than the majority of the trading hopefuls. However, most traders would argue (probably correctly) that from the knowledge and experience gained from studying technical analysis that firstly their win/loss ratio was better than 50%. That is, when planning and entering a trade they have used their skill and judgment to ensure that more often than not it will move in the direction they want. (If this were not true than you may as well toss a coin to determine when to trade!). Just a modest increase on tossing a coin, say 60%, meaning achieving 6 out of 10 winning trades should be easily achievable by applying correctly just a little knowledge. Secondly, they would argue that they can plan a trade that would have an initial minimum risk/reward ratio of 1:2, ensuring that on average, winning trades would be twice as profitable as any losing ones. Given just a modest win/loss ratio of 60% and a risk/reward ratio of 1:2 most traders would be happy with achieving this (certainly as a launching point to a successful fulltime career). If most traders stuck to their "rules" they probably could in fact achieve comparable results however, in practice, other factors take over; greed, fear, ego, hesitation, hope ......
Whatever the good intentions of the initial plan, quickly the "Psychology" of trading becomes the most important aspect. It is an individual's personality traits that are ultimately the determinate of the success or failure in the execution of any system or methodology. Simply put, they don't stick to the plan for a variety of well documented reasons. This also has a dramatic impact on the "money management" side of trading. It becomes non-existent, unquantifiable and certainly impossible to do a risk assessment going forward when the trading style has become virtually arbitrary. If aspiring traders would only analyze past trades critically to categorize if it were in fact the system that failed or the failure was in the execution of the rules, then much progress would be made. However, this leads to another failure of novice traders in that a trading log/diary is seldom kept to allow this crucial evaluation.
Final Comments
Overall, unsuccessful traders rarely make the step up to a professional full-time trader because when the performance of a system doesn't match expectations they discard it and move onto they next "system". However, often it is not the system that is at fault but the application or adherence to the rules of that system. If a trader has spent a number of years pursuing this unproductive path of trying to find that allusive "system that works", then more likely the problem lies within and not in the selection of a system. If this applies to you then, get those old trading books down from the shelf and focus more on the Psychology of trading and Money Management; you know those chapters that you skipped over and felt were not that relevant to you! If you want to succeed you need to reappraise your viewpoint and only then can you enjoy the wealth and lifestyle that is on offer to a fulltime professional trader. A highly effectively trading system is only the start and one that delivers consistent results in any market is recommended below. Choose a methodology (system) that works, stick with it and remain disciplined in its execution to ensure the success that has eluded you for so long. Your rebirth as a trader starts now.

Don't make your letter very long. A lengthy cover letter appears to be a life story. A one-paged cover letter is more than enough.

The addressee's name should be correctly spelled, including his or her title. Bear in mind that no particular person, especially that of authority, want his/her name spelled incorrectly.
